At Women Deliver 2026, in the decolonization plenary, we closed in complementarity—PLUME, ECMIA, FIMI, and IFIP—naming the reality of funding for Indigenous women.

As shared by Lourdes Inga, Executive Director of International Funders for Indigenous Peoples, funding grew from about 0.7% in 2016 to 1.4% in 2019.

Progress, yes—but still far from what is needed.

Decolonization must shift resources—ensuring donors and philanthropists increase funding and direct it to Indigenous women and Indigenous Peoples.

The day is here.

With deep gratitude, we thank our philanthropic allies for standing with us at this founding moment.

Funding PLUME is decolonial philanthropy—an investment in Indigenous women’s leadership, self-determination, and solutions grounded in our knowledge systems.

We are grateful to walk this path together.
