Whitefish Bay Garden Club A 501c3 nonprofit service organization dedicated to growing a greener Village of Whitefish Bay, WI.

The mission of the Whitefish Bay Garden Club is to stimulate an interest in horticulture and the development of home gardens, to beautify civic grounds, and to protect natural surroundings. Whitefish Bay (WFB) Garden Club, founded in 1958, just celebrated its 55th anniversary. In recent years, the WFB Garden Club has started, promoted or collaborated on the following community projects:
•Re-establ

ished the Butterfly Garden at Cahill Park;
•Co-sponsored Bird City recognition;
•Weeded Klode Path to Lake Michigan;
•Participated in Green Day in the Bay;
•Planted trees on Arbor Day at local schools;
•Established Forget-Me-Not bouquets for WFB residents in need of TLC;
•Entered the annual Milwaukee Art Museum Art in Bloom competitions;
•Won numerous Garden Club/Flower Awards and Recognitions at the State level.

We enjoyed participating in the Richards High Interest Day. Kids learned about the Club’s community gardens and educational programs and why we love native plants. Then everyone sowed seeds in a peat pot to take home - a twist on a Three Sisters Square Foot plot - 4 pole beans and one each of winter squash, sunflower, nasturtium, and marigold with a sprinkle of alyssum. They took home directions (pictured).

Visit Silver Spring Park this summer and enjoy a snack from our Edible Garden while learning about native plants in our outdoor classroom. You can also get a Celebration Stone with proceeds benefiting our community gardens in Whitefish Bay.
