Silver Spring Neighborhood Center is a nonprofit organization with a mission to build a safer, stronger neighborhood and community by helping more than 8,000 individuals and families towards self-sufficiency each year. For more than half a century, Silver Spring Neighborhood Center has had a proven track record of delivering high-quality programming. Silver Spring successfully offers core programs

- from prenatal care coordination to child development, to youth and teen programs to adult and senior programs - in one facility. Our Elaine Schreiber Child Development Center serves children from six weeks to 12 years using best practices in Early Childhood Education and before and after school care. The Adult Services program provides employment assistance through the Transform Milwaukee Jobs Program. We also offer GED Preparation, Basic Skills and English as a Second Language (ESL classes) through Literacy Services of WI.

Day 2 of Summer Camp

Today our youth had a great day filled with fun, teamwork, and friendly competition.
They took part in activities like musical chairs, obstacle courses, and listening challenges. Everyone stayed active, engaged, and excited as they competed for prizes.

Youth also participated in art projects that encouraged creativity and self‑expression, along with physical development activities that helped build strength, confidence, and teamwork.

A highlight of the day was welcoming several high school graduates who had just walked the stage earlier. They came to celebrate with us, and the younger youth were inspired to see them reaching such an important milestone.

Overall, it was a positive, energetic day full of learning, celebration, and community.

The first day of summer programming was a resounding success, with our teens participating in basketball skill development, ice cream social, walking club, e-sports, and team building. Day 1 was truly remarkable.

Huge THANK YOU to the Milwaukee Fire Department for taking the time to visit our students at Elaine Schreiber Child Development Center. This was the perfect way to close out our May learning about community helpers and careers. The kids haven’t stopped talking about it since! ❤️🚒🧯

We are so excited to start enrollment for our new K-4 school-readiness program!!! 8 am - 12 pm Mondays - Thursdays starting July 6th, we are offering a free K4 program focused on early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional, and other important skills to get your little ones prepared for kindergarten. 🍎📚 Free breakfast and lunch included, with the option of paid or state-pay childcare before and after program hours.
