What an incredible evening of laughs and entertainment! A HUGE thank you to the comedians that came out - Just Neesh, Mike E Winfield, CP, and of course our very own Carl Lee for holding it down as the host!
Also to our incredible dancers lead by Aisha Wand and DJ Gemineye for the music entertainment 🎶
And of course to the Holly Theater for accommodating us!

Our first day of BASE Summer Chess Club, and it was incredible to watch these young minds at work.

Every move required patience, strategy, focus, and critical thinking. The board became more than a game; it became a place where confidence was built, problems were solved, and young leaders learned to think several steps ahead.

This is exactly what summer should be about: learning, growing, challenging ourselves, and having fun together. We’re excited to see how these young BASE youth continue to develop throughout the summer, both on and off the chessboard.

ANNUAL BASE ROGUE ADVENTURE

Some of the most meaningful moments in a young person’s life don’t happen inside a classroom.

They happen while stepping outside of their comfort zone, trying something for the very first time, building new friendships, and discovering just how much they are capable of.

For our annual adventure dozens of BASE youth spent the day together on the River for one of our favorite annual traditions. From jet boating and paddle boating to fishing, swimming, obstacle courses, and exploring the outdoors, the day was filled with adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

For many of our youth, these were first-time experiences. Some caught their very first fish. Others rode a jet boat for the first time, explored the water on paddle boats, or simply found the confidence to try something new. Throughout the day, we watched young people encourage one another, celebrate each other’s successes, and build friendships that will last far beyond the summer.

Before the adventure began, our youth proudly recited the BASE Youth Pledge, reminding one another of the values that define our program; leadership, respect, integrity, responsibility, and community. Those values were evident all day long as our youth looked out for one another, worked together, and embraced every opportunity with courage and enthusiasm.

Experiences like these are about much more than recreation. They build confidence, strengthen relationships, create a sense of belonging, and remind our youth that they are part of a community that believes in them.

We are incredibly grateful to our families for trusting us, our staff and volunteers for making days like this possible, and most importantly, to each of our amazing youth for bringing their energy, kindness, and adventurous spirit.

These are the moments that shape memories, strengthen communities, and inspire the next generation of leaders.

At BASE, we remain committed to creating opportunities that empower young people to grow, connect, and thrive.

Because a thriving community is one where every young person feels seen, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
