The Oregon Secretary of State’s Office is urging voters who want to mail in their ballots for the May election to do so no later than today, May 12.

That’s because changes at the U.S. Postal Service announced last year mean that it could take longer than usual for ballots to be postmarked and reach local elections offices. Most ballots will be sent to Portland before they are postmarked and delivered to elections offices across the state, the Secretary of State’s Office said.
