The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation (DFR) is hosting a series of open houses in wildfire-impacted regions throughout the state to support consumers facing difficulties in securing or keeping homeowners insurance. These events are designed to help homeowners understand their insurance options, learn how to shop for coverage, and receive one-on-one guidance from DFR. Each open house will provide resources on how to find homeowners insurance, what to do if you’ve been nonrenewed, and how to work effectively with insurance agents and companies. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions specific to their situation.

• Oct. 29, 6-7:30 p.m., in Klamath Falls at the Oregon Institute of Technology – Student Union Auditorium, 3201 Campus Drive.

Oregon maximum rent increase for 202 announced!




Clarification of Rent Increase Maximums for Year 2027.

Each year, the Oregon Office of Economic Analysis (OEA) calculates and publishes the maximum annual rent increase allowed by law for the upcoming year. Rent increase limits are designed to protect tenants from large, unexpected rent hikes.

For 2027, the maximum annual rent increase limits are:

10% for rental facilities that are 15 years or older.

The lower maximum rental increase established by HB3054 (6%) is only applicable to manufactured home parks and floating home marinas containing more than 30 spaces.

House Bill 3054, passed in 2025, changed how rent increases are calculated. Now, the size of the rental property affects the allowed increase.

Per statute, the OEA calculates the maximum rent increase by adding 7% to the average change in the cost of living over the past year. Only one rent increase is allowed every 12 months, and the maximum increase is capped at 10%. The cost-of-living change is measured using the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers, West Region (All Items), published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

The allowable rent increase percentage for the previous year, 2026, was 9.5%.

For year 2028, the maximum rent increase numbers will be released on or before September 30,
