Dear family, friends & supporters,
After more than seven years of caring for senior, special-needs, and vulnerable animals, I have made the heartbreaking decision to close Petals-4-Paws Nursery & Rescue.
Before I say anything else, I want to thank each of you who offered condolences, encouragement, and support after the passing of P4P co-founder, Laura Golden, in March 2025. Although I was not able to respond to everyone individually, please know that your kindness meant more than I can express.
This rescue has been one of the greatest achievements of my life. All us together created a sanctuary for animals who had nowhere else to go - a place where healing came not only through medical care, but through patience, compassion, and love.
The past several years brought challenges that I could not overcome: the passing of Laura, the decline of my mental health, and ultimately the loss of the P4P property. Together, they forced me to face a reality I never wanted to accept - that I no longer have the capacity to continue operating the rescue.
While the rescue is closing, my responsibility to these animals is not over.
My focus now is making sure every remaining animal reaches a safe, reputable placement where they can continue to receive the care they deserve. I am heartbroken by this decision, but I am committed to seeing every animal safely through this transition.
**URGENT NEED #1: Temporary Housing**
There may be a gap between our move-out date and intake dates with receiving rescues. If anyone knows of a property, building, barn, or secure space that could temporarily house P4P animals during this transition, please contact me. I will provide all food, medication, supplies, and daily care.
**URGENT NEED #2: Financial Support**
This is my final fundraising appeal, and it is urgent. I am actively networking with reputable rescue partners throughout the Pacific Northwest to secure placements for the remaining animals. Due to increasing costs and the overwhelming number of animals currently in need in Jackson County, finding and coordinating those placements locally has proven more difficult than expected.
Every dollar donated will go directly toward completing this transition safely. Funds will be used for food, medications, veterinary care, supplies, transportation, fuel, and other costs associated with relocating animals to their receiving rescues. In addition, the P4P Tahoe requires minor repairs and a new set of tires to safely transport animals outside the Rogue Valley.
The rescue may be closing, but these animals still need us.
I am working against move-out deadlines and doing everything possible to ensure that no animal is left behind. The faster these funds are raised, the faster these animals can reach safety and stability in their new homes and rescue organizations.

Words cannot express my gratitude for the support you have given these animals and me over the past seven years. Whether you donated, volunteered, shared and/or engaged with posts, transported animals, fostered, adopted, or simply cheered us on, you became part of this mission!
Thank you for standing with us through both the best moments and the hardest ones. Thank you for helping us give these animals the ending and new beginning they deserve.
