Fayetteville Arkansas Police Department
After more than 23 years of service with the Fayetteville Police Department and over 27 years of military service, Sergeant Christopher L. Scherrey is retiring from a career dedicated to leadership, professionalism, and service to others.
During his time with FPD, Sgt. Scherrey served in the Office of Professional Standards and held supervisory assignments in patrol, school resource operations, and departmental leadership. Throughout his career, he brought experience in investigations, crisis management, legal application, and operational leadership to every role he held.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Sgt. Scherrey proudly served in both the U.S. Army and the Arkansas Army National Guard. His military service included two deployments to Iraq with the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and a peacekeeping mission to the Sinai Peninsula with the Multinational Force and Observers. Over the course of his military career, he served in numerous command and staff leadership positions, including Information Operations Officer, Brigade S-3/Operations Officer, and Brigade Provost Marshal.
Beyond the uniform, Sgt. Scherrey is most proud of being a father to Ethan, Ayden, and Logan. As he begins this next chapter, we thank him for his years of dedication and sacrifice to both his community and his country.
