Congratulations and job well done by East District Officers Nichols, Drost and Edington, who were presented with the August Officer of the Month Award at today’s midwatch roll call.
These officers were recognized for their proactive work that turned a routine traffic stop into a more widespread and still ongoing co***ne distribution investigation, while simultaneously reinvigorating an overdose death investigation.
We applaud these officers for their dedication to our community, diligence and attention to detail. Their actions and relentless commitment to the safety of Knoxville led directly to the removal of deadly narcotics from the streets and significant evidentiary intelligence.
Their actions reflect the best of our department and our collective resolve to make Knoxville one of the safest cities in the country.
