If you have ever thought about donating to a worthy cause, please consider supporting HCAI. ❤️

We are often the bridge in the gap — helping when rescues are full, resources are stretched thin, and community cats continue reproducing at an overwhelming rate. Every day, we receive heartbreaking messages from families and caregivers desperately trying to help cats in need.

Your donations help provide:

• Spay/neuter assistance

• TNR support

• Vaccines and medical care

• Emergency supplies

• Humane education and outreach

We truly cannot continue this work without community support. Every dollar makes a difference and helps us continue fighting for the animals that so often have nowhere else to turn.

Tonight’s plea is just one of many heartbreaking situations we are trying to help with. Thank you for believing in this mission and standing beside us. ❤️

Good afternoon

Last year in July my neighbor moved and left 3 cats which are feel but they claimed them by feeding them.

They moved and left them which I found to be heartbreaking.

I started to feed them as there were just 3.

I have faithfully feed them everyday, fresh water for the last year.

The issue I have now is there are 11.

The 2 females over the course of the year have both had 4 babies each.

One within the last week

They are literally homesteading in my yard.

All 11. Although I've grown attached I'm not able to take care of this many animals.

I'm already going through 25 pound a week bag and a out 25 cans of wet good per week.

I think the new mom is in distressed she's breathing harder than I think she should be. I feed her close to my porch and water her but I'm concerned. They are seriously well behaved ferel cats I don't want them out to sleep at all but Jesus I need help .please let me know how you can help me.

I'm attaching pictures of some. They are beautiful.

Receiving a lot of calls about single orphaned kittens today!
Make sure before you try to start feeding that the Kitten’s body temperature is warm !!

They must be warm before you feed them anything !

No cows milk!

Goats milk or kitten formula for the babies ❤️

Warm them first ❤️ and sit them up while bottle feeding. Never feed them on their back they can aspirate❤️‍🩹

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in animal welfare is that compassion alone cannot solve overpopulation — prevention must be part of the solution too.

Every day, rescuers, shelters, and advocates across Georgia work tirelessly to feed hungry cats, treat injuries, and save kittens in crisis. Those acts matter deeply. But if we truly want to reduce suffering long-term, we must focus on stopping the cycle before it starts.

This post beautifully explains why Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is such an important part of creating lasting change for community cats. I encourage everyone to take a moment to read it.
Jennifer ❤️🐾

Turning the Tide: Why TNR Must Be Georgia’s North Star

Last week, we had an important conversation with one of our dedicated community partners about the long-term impact of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). Their words perfectly capture why this work remains at the heart of our mission at Fix GA Pets:

“The true measure of success is not how many cats we feed, but how many we can prevent from being born into a life of struggle on the streets. By focusing on the source of overpopulation through TNR, we transition from a reactive cycle of suffering to a proactive cycle of care.”- Diviya Roney (Cat Programs & Client Services Director at Humane Society of Forsyth County)

Why This Matters for Georgia

In animal welfare, it is easy to become trapped in the reactive cycle. We see a hungry cat and provide food. We see an injured kitten and provide medical care. These compassionate acts matter deeply - but they do not stop the cycle from repeating.

TNR represents the proactive solution. By addressing the source of overpopulation, we reduce future suffering before it begins. We stabilize community cat colonies, improve quality of life, and prevent countless kittens from being born into unsafe conditions.

This is how lasting change happens. Not by responding endlessly to crisis - but by preventing it.

At Fix GA Pets, we believe every cat in Georgia deserves the chance to be wanted, cared for, and safe. TNR helps make that future possible.
