Effective January 1, 2024, if your company filed in the State of TN (or any state) as a business entity (for all corporations, all LLCs, etc.), your company now must submit a mandatory report to the federal government – the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

This new reporting requirement applies to all companies in the United States if that company was registered or created prior to January 1 2024. It requires information about the individuals who own or control the company.

This is a national requirement that many businesses do not know about – unless their accountant or bookkeeper already shared it.

Few companies are exempt from this new requirement.
