Lauderdale County, MS Sheriff's Office
We had a blast at last night's Open House at the Mississippi Children’s Museum -Meridian! 🏛️✨
Our SWAT Team loved hanging out with the kids, showing off the tactical vehicle, and letting them try our gear on for size. From exploring the truck to answering great questions, it was an evening full of big smiles.
Thank you to the Mississippi Children's Museum for hosting, and to everyone who stopped by to say hello! Strong community connections are what it's all about. 🤝🚔

Forrest County Sheriff's Office
The Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association held its annual conference last week, giving officers a chance to demonstrate their marksmanship, driving and riding abilities and allowing their K9 partners a chance to show what they know. Forrest County Deputy Jacob Hiatt is the handler for K9 Xen, who is truly a top dog in the department! Together, out of 30 K9 teams competing, they brought home 5 awards: Top Patrol, top narcotics, 2nd place in vehicle narcotics and 3rd place indoor narcotics, and the coveted first place prize- Top Dog Award overall in the competition. The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office is proud of this outstanding K9 team and all of our deputies who competed in fi****ms, driving and riding in last week’s event. K9 teams like Dep. Hiatt and Xen are a real asset to the department and our mission- to promote trust in our community through a committed effort to serve our citizens courteously, respectfully, and professionally in order to prevent crime and enhance safety.

Lee County Sheriff's Office, Mississippi
Congratulations to our deputies who recently completed Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training this afternoon.
(l to r: Deputy Dimming, Deputy Hodge, Deputy Bell, Sgt. White, Deputy Pearson, & Deputy Anderson)
CIT is a 40-hour specialized program that equips law enforcement officers with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively respond to individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, or emotional crises. Through partnerships with mental health professionals and community service providers, officers learn crisis de-escalation techniques, communication strategies, su***de intervention, and how to connect individuals with appropriate resources and treatment.
This training helps strengthen public safety, reduce stigma surrounding mental illness, and improve outcomes for both officers and the citizens they serve. We are proud of our graduates for their commitment to continuing education and serving our community with professionalism, compassion, and understanding.
