Please join us in welcoming Chase Denton to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office as our newest Patrol Deputy! 👋
Chase brings 13 years of law enforcement experience, and he’s built that career from the ground up. He started in 2013 at the Oktibbeha County Jail, where he was promoted to assistant supervisor within two years. In 2016 he became a deputy with Oktibbeha County, and in 2020 he moved into the Criminal Investigations Division.
In 2021 Chase joined the Pontotoc Police Department, where he went on to serve in the Proactive Patrol Division and was later promoted to sergeant over that division. In 2025 he became a detective, and from 2023 to 2026 he was also assigned to the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. That’s a lot of experience on the street, behind the investigation, and alongside federal partners, and it’s all coming to work for Lafayette County.
When he’s off duty, you’ll most likely find Chase outdoors. He loves hunting and hiking, especially out west in the Rocky Mountains, and he’s a big fan of national parks and history. 🏔️ He’s also a former nationally ranked competitive shooter, so it’s safe to say he knows his way around the range. Chase is a man of faith and recently joined Woodland Baptist Church in Pontotoc.
We’re glad to have him on the team. If you see Chase out on patrol, be sure to say hello and give him a warm Lafayette County welcome! 💙
