Warrior's Soul

Warrior's Soul Mental, emotional, spiritual and physical healing and well being. The horse is the guide in this process of learning, reflecting and exploration.

Equine Guided Education provides a supportive learning environment for participants to learn about themselves, heal what has been broken, and reconnect to what has heart and meaning. The Equine Guided Educator as “Educator” cultivates the integration of mind/body/spirit through interacting with a horse chosen specifically for that client and his/her issues.

Sometimes, when you're considering stepping into something - especially if it's the unknown, and/or if it could potentially be the source of significant growth and insight - it's helpful to know about the thing. And even better to get to experience it first.

So, we're excited to announce that we're hosting a Taste of Grace, a complimentary two-hour preview of our upcoming event, The Grace Series Workshops for women.

This is an opportunity to:

~learn about the heart, intention, and spirit behind this series.
~experience connection and community with other women.
~have a firsthand perspective and experience of what these workshops will offer and what's here for you.

Join us on October 24th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm out at the ranch by letting us know you'll be attending (please send us a message here). We, meaning the team here at Warrior's Soul as well as the horses, can't wait to share this time and experience with you. ❤️

Benji (busy eating grass) & Sage (in her safe-for-now spot)...

Sage can be shy, and she likes to take her time deciding when and how she wants to interact. But when she feels safe, there is sweetness and an openness to connect there.

She’s a lovely reminder that connection doesn’t always arrive boldly. Sometimes it unfolds quietly, in its own time... and is all the more meaningful when it does. ❤️

Well, this is so fun! A big thank you to our good friend Renee Phan of Roseville Auto Repair & L**e for this sweet snapshot of the ranch and program... And for making our Summer a movie star!
🤩🐎

We're so glad and grateful to know Renee - stand by as we share more in the future about the incredible nonprofit she's creating. (That's all we'll say for now!) Our cowboy hats are off to her for the heart and vision she's putting into it, and we're cheering her on all the way! ❤️

Blue says...

May you feel the warmth of the sunset on your face (or back) this weekend. May you find quiet moments of rest and reflection (or the good bits of grass beneath your hooves/feet). And may you know that you are appreciated and held in gratitude by the herd here at Warrior's Soul.

"Only the good parts, Love." ~Mom

Whether they're our own or ones we're fortunate to have in our lives, children have a way of seeing us through eyes that connect with parts of ourselves that can become... Lost. Forgotten. Unacknowledged. Similar to horses, but in their own way, kids show up in their honest, authentic truth, and that is a gift to be treasured, seen, and honored. ❤️

Tomorrow morning is our weekly horse/human wellness session - designed to foster deeper connection for some of the existing partnerships here on the ranch.

So, our question for you is... What's one thing, just *one* thing, you're doing (or can do) to nurture deeper connection with yourself and/or those around you? (You know we always love hearing from you - share with us in the comments!)

If you could use some ideas, here are a few:

🌿 Give someone your full attention for five minutes. No phone, no multitasking, no thinking about what you’ll say next. Just listen.

🌿 Check in with yourself before automatically saying yes. Ask, What do I actually need or want here?

🌿 Do one familiar thing a little more slowly. Walk the dog, make coffee, brush your teeth (or your horse), eat lunch... just notice the experience instead of rushing through it.

🌿 Reach out to someone you care about for no particular reason. Not because you need something. Just because you were thinking of them.

🌿 Spend a few minutes with someone you love without needing to “do” anything. Human or animal. Connection doesn’t always require conversation or an activity...
..And it isn't always built through big moments. Often, it's what we choose to pay attention to in the small ones.

Tomorrow morning at the ranch, we'll be making space to notice, nurture, and deepen the relationships that are already there - and we're wishing the same for you this week. ❤️

Why does choice matter in our work with horses?

Here at Warrior's Soul, we don't view horses as tools for human learning, healing, comfort, or any of the things. They're sentient partners in the experience, and whenever/however possible, they're given the opportunity to choose whether and how they participate.

And really, choice matters for kids, too. (It's actually a natural part of early development that facilitates future learning!)

Having opportunities to make decisions, try something in their own way, change course, and discover what happens next helps children develop confidence, independence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of agency.

When we create an environment where neither the horse nor the child is simply being told what to do, something different becomes possible: curiosity, communication, mutual respect, and real learning.

Sometimes, oftentimes, giving someone room to choose is one of the most powerful ways we can help them grow. ❤️

Yeehaw! Friday has arrived...

Any plans this weekend? (We always ❤️ hearing what you're up to!)

Whatever this week held, we hope the weekend brings you some good company, a little (or a lot of) laughter, and something you genuinely enjoy - even if it's peace and quiet and doing just plain ol' nothing for a bit.

From all of us (two-legged and four-legged!) at Warrior's Soul, have a wonderful weekend!

We always love a beautiful horse-human story. And when we're honored with the opportunity to watch it unfold within our own herd, it takes on an even deeper layer of meaning for us - like Erinn's next chapter.

Erinn is a mustang mare, now around 9 years old. About six years ago, she was started through a Mustang Makeover program, and two years ago she was generously entrusted to Warrior’s Soul when her previous owner was no longer able to keep her going.

(If you're not familiar, mustangs are free-roaming horses, descended from once-domesticated horses and shaped by generations of life on the range.)

Now ranch residents and staff Lacey and her 12-year-old son Jaydon are beginning a gentle restart with her - one built on patience, trust, and relationship.

These photos are a beautiful illustration of the quiet kind of progress we value so much: standing together, saddling, waiting, listening, and giving Erinn time to understand.

Mustangs can teach us so much about timing, trust, courage, and respect. We're proud of Lacey, Jaydon, and Erinn for the relationship they're building together, and grateful to see how it unfolds for all involved.

Sometimes the most meaningful progress is the quietest kind.
