At 89 years old, Samuel is the full-time caregiver for his wife. When her health took a turn, life changed for both of them. She had always taken care of so much, and suddenly Samuel found himself trying to manage it all.

With finances tight and no way to afford extra help, their home had gone quite some time without a thorough cleaning. Samuel was overwhelmed and could use a helping hand.

Thanks to our wonderful donors and our friends at Suzette's Cleaning Company, Samuel’s Silver Wish came true! Their home received the deep cleaning it needed, taking one big thing off Samuel’s shoulders and making life a little brighter for this sweet couple.

Sometimes a wish isn’t about something you can hold, it’s about relief, support and knowing you don’t have to do everything alone.

We are incredibly grateful to Quick Quack Car Wash for choosing Silver Wishes as the beneficiary of their Grand Opening celebration at their newest Roseville location!

During their FREE Car Wash event, our community showed up with generous donations and Quick Quack matched every dollar, doubling the impact for local seniors.

We’re excited to put this generous donation right back into our community, making more life-changing wishes come true for seniors who deserve to feel seen, valued and remembered.

Roger is preparing for both knee and hip replacement surgery this fall. Living alone and getting by on a very limited income, he knew a mobility scooter would make a tremendous difference as he navigates his recovery but purchasing one on his own simply wasn’t possible.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and a discount from Bischoff’s Medical Supply, Roger’s wish for a mobility scooter came true.

When we asked Roger what this wish meant to him, he shared that he “can’t believe he is 70 because he feels much younger. But most of all, he’s appreciative and grateful.”

And that gratitude didn’t stop there. The very next day, Roger called Silver Wishes and said that once he has recovered from surgery, he would love to become a volunteer and help others.

And there it is again—the Dandelion Effect.

A wish granted to one person becomes gratitude. Gratitude becomes a desire to give back. And that kindness continues to spread.

We can’t wait to see Roger back on his feet and hopefully one day, serving alongside us!

After being hit by a drunk driver in 2005, Sandy received a wheelchair to help with her mobility. Later, after receiving some bad advice, she gave it up, only to discover that her insurance would cover just one wheelchair in her lifetime.

Years later, Sandy found herself needing that independence again.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and a special discount from Bischoff’s Medical Supply, Sandy’s wish for a new lightweight wheelchair has come true.

Overcome with emotion, Sandy shared: “This wish is everything. I can get out more. I can get around a store better. This allows me to get outside easier.”

Sometimes a wish isn’t just about what we’re giving, it’s about what it gives back. For Sandy, this wheelchair means greater freedom, independence, and the ability to enjoy more of the world around her.

Ronald had been worried about the condition of the exterior of his mobile home. Living on a limited income, he simply didn’t have the funds to make the needed repairs and feared that violations from park management could eventually put his housing at risk.

Thanks to YOUR support, Silver Wishes was able to partner with the incredible team at Lutz Good Day Homes to give Ronald’s home, and his peace of mind, a much-needed facelift.

And they went above and beyond. In addition to sealing his roof, pressure washing and painting the exterior, and repairing the skirting around his home, the Lutz Good Day Homes team took it upon themselves to paint his storage shed to match, add new address numbers, and even replace his American flag.

But the best part came afterward, when we received this message from their team:
“We could honestly see the excitement and happiness in Ronald. He had his music turned up, he was in a great mood, and he could not keep the smile off his face. He was inviting friends over, showing them the mobile home, and could not stop talking about how happy he was with how everything turned out.”

That is the Dandelion Effect.

A freshly painted home became relief. Relief became pride. And that pride turned into a smile Ronald couldn’t contain.

We are so grateful to Lutz Good Day Homes for putting so much heart into Ronald’s wish—and to all of YOU whose support makes moments like this possible.

Patty is almost blind, with only peripheral vision, and is also the full-time caregiver for her husband, Wally. Their worn, torn and buckling carpet had become a real safety concern for both of them.

When Patty started telling neighbors that Silver Wishes was going to make their wish for new carpet come true, she was met with a few “Debbie Doubters” who told her, “That’s never going to happen.”

Well… it happened.

Patty and Wally thought we were simply stopping by with a gift certificate to their favorite pizza place. Then our volunteer Linda read the Silver Wishes note card revealing their REAL wish - brand-new carpet throughout their home!

The shock and joy on their faces said it all.

A huge thank you to S&G Carpet and More, who were absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish.

For Patty and Wally, this wish is about so much more than new carpet. It’s about a safer home, peace of mind, and knowing that their community cares.

And yes… Patty is VERY excited to tell those Debbie Doubters that her wish really did come true!

At 96 years young, Loretta has been walking everywhere she needs to go for the past 11 years. She enjoys walking and shared that on her trips to the grocery store, she would often spend the time praying for others along the way.

But recently, Loretta reached out to Silver Wishes with a simple request: “My bones are tired, and I would love a mobility scooter that could hold my two bags of groceries so I don’t have to walk and carry them anymore.”

We were honored to make that wish come true. When Loretta picked out her new scooter, we asked her what this wish meant to her. Her answer was just one word:

“Freedom.”

“I can get places faster now,” she added.

And sure enough… guess who we spotted cruising down Eureka Road just 48 hours later? There was Loretta, out and about, enjoying her newfound freedom!

What a joy to see a wish come full circle, from Loretta telling us what she needed to actually seeing the difference it made in her everyday life.

This is what your support makes possible. At 96 years old, Loretta has a little more independence, a little less burden, and a whole lot more freedom.
