Yesterday, our friend and co-board member Kim Zitter Nunn unexpectedly passed away. Kim and Christy were high school friends that had lost touch, as so many of us have experienced. Then in 2016, at a cross country event our children were running in, they ran into each other, and the friendship was rekindled. I didn’t meet Kim until Christy’s memorial when she showed up with equipment to stream the service to friends whom couldn’t make it. Then she kept showing up to all our events were I got to know her a bit. Eventually I asked her to join the foundation. She was a perfect fit with her background in nonprofit’s and her kind heart. She quickly became my friend, and now I can’t believe I have to say goodbye 😢 This photo was taken last year at the Northgate High School Senor Awards Night. Kim had just given a speech and awards to our recipient students. After the ceremony we snuck into the school and she toured us around all the places she and Christy hung out back in the mid eighties, until a staff member found us wandering the halls and asked us to leave.🙂 This years Northgate scholarship awards will be given out in memory and in honor of Kim. Please join me in sending a prayer of strength to her family, especially her children, Rachel & Colby.
