Dear Friends,

As we close out another meaningful year, we want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our incredible community. It truly takes a village to support system-impacted youth — and our village includes dedicated volunteers, generous donors, our wonderful herd, and most importantly, the amazing young people we serve. Each of you plays a vital role in making this work possible.

This year brought growth and change in many forms — including within our herd. We said goodbye to Jackson, Rio, Sully and Mike (the goat) and welcomed Smoothie. She has quickly become a favorite among those who enjoy a calm, leisurely ride. Her sweet and calm spirit has been a bright addition to our program!

Together, we continue to build, learn, and grow — creating spaces for healing, connection, and hope. We hosted over a hundred people at the ranch this year from Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties. We are deeply grateful for your continued support and partnership on this journey.

We are trying out this little cutie for a month, Smoothie! She loves kids, is very sweet and nice. We walked her home from the neighbors' yesterday. She met Jackson and Tessa today and they are now living together as a herd! She's going through a big transition and handling it so well!

Kansas has just returned from one of the toughest equestrian challenges in the world, the Gaucho Derby in Argentina! Announcing an exciting Horsemanship and HeartMath workshop on July 27 and 28 with Kansas Carradine in Aromas, located in between Santa Cruz and Monterey, on the Central Coast!

Kansas is an expert in Horsemanship and HeartMath. She has a number of experiences that have shaped her life and work, including becoming a professional trick rider at 11 years old! Later, she became a Hollywood Stuntwoman and then rider and trainer for the Equestrian Show, Cavalia, relying on a steady grounded leadership and clear communication to execute amazing feats!

She is a captivating speaker and will be doing a group workshop on Saturday about the benefits of horsemanship and the energy, communication and heart-centered connection that are such an integral part of working with horses and people.

We have fun on Saturdays! This week started with a big storm. And then, rainbows.

We have a new horse, Rio Rojo. He and Jackson had fun munching on the green grass, and are pictured here under a double rainbow.
