A day of conservation, connection, and plenty of fun! 🦒

Our Chevron Fellows recently spent the day at Global Wildlife Center learning more about their conservation efforts and getting a behind-the-scenes look through private tours. We also heard from Kristi Trail, Executive Director of Pontchartrain Conservancy, about conservation efforts happening right here on the Northshore and the important role our natural resources play in our community.

It was a day full of learning, laughter, and time together — with some pretty memorable animal encounters along the way!

What happens when bold ideas, strong partnerships, and a community willing to invest come together?

The inaugural Northshore Collective Impact Fund Pitch Competition. Three nonprofit teams stepped forward with thoughtful, collaborative solutions to significant needs across the Northshore — Future Ready Northshore, The Hub: Food & Friends Pantry, and Check Out Health.

We are incredibly proud of all three teams and the time, creativity, and collaboration they poured into their ideas.

Congratulations to Future Ready Northshore, our inaugural $150,000 grant recipient!

What an incredible night at the inaugural Northshore Collective Impact Fund Pitch Competition!

Three nonprofit teams brought bold ideas and collaborative solutions to the stage, with Future Ready Northshore taking home the $150,000 grant. Congratulations to Elevate HTM and Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans, along with their coaches Marty Mayer and the team at St. Tammany Economic Development Corporation.

The Northshore Collective Impact Fund is about bringing nonprofits, businesses, and community partners together to tackle challenges facing our community and create lasting change across the Northshore.

Last night, we saw that mission come to life. Stay tuned as we share more about all three teams, their ideas, and the impact this first-ever Pitch Competition will help create.

One conversation can open the door to a new connection, a new opportunity, or a new way to give back.

Our second annual Speed Connection in collaboration with the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce brought together young professionals and 27 local nonprofits for an afternoon of fast-paced conversations, new connections, and plenty of opportunities to get involved. From volunteering and board service to supporting nonprofits through the workplace, there were so many ways to turn a conversation into action.

We’re grateful to everyone who showed up ready to connect, share, and learn more about the incredible work happening across our Northshore community. This is what building an engaged, thriving community looks like!

AI is changing the way we work—and our nonprofit partners are learning how to make it work for them!

We recently welcomed Sam Hardin, founder of Bright Pivot, for an engaging AI training designed specifically for our nonprofit partners. Sam dove into practical AI tools, how to make AI adapt to you (rather than the other way around), and ways to personalize your platforms so they better fit your needs and workflow.

A huge thank you to Sam for sharing his expertise, time, and knowledge with our nonprofit community! We’re excited to see how our partners put these tools to work.

There are so many ways to show up for your community — sometimes, it’s as simple as sharing a pizza and a smile!

We loved getting to visit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana’s new Covington location and spend a little time with their members. It was even better to see the excitement that a few pizzas could bring!

A huge thank-you to Domino's Pizza on Highway 25 for providing the pizza and helping make the afternoon a little more special.
