The Hope House crew was in New Orleans this week for the 33rd Annual APSAC Colloquium! 💜
We're honored to be learning alongside child advocacy professionals from across the country, and especially proud that two members of our team are serving as conference presenters!👏🏻

Every opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate helps us better serve the children and families who count on us every day.

You make us proud, Heather!❤️👏🏻

You make us proud, Heather!❤️👏🏻

Meet Heather Denenea, a Forensic Interviewer Children's Advocacy Center-Hope House!!!!💙

•For Heather, forensic interviewing means giving each child their own space to share their story in their own words, at their own pace. And her dedication doesn't stop at the interview room. When court comes, she takes the stand alongside them, using her training and experience to help juries understand the complex dynamics of children's disclosures.❤️‍🩹

•One of her most powerful moments? Testifying for a child with a delayed disclosure — little evidence, incredible odds — and watching justice prevail anyway. "Her strength and bravery was the most inspiring part."🏡

•During PTSD Awareness Month, Heather wants the world to know that trauma-informed care means flexibility and compassion. Our processes must fit the needs of the children we serve, not the other way around.

•When it comes to taking care of herself in such a heavy field, Heather leans on her team, her faith, and her love for children, even volunteering in her church's children's ministry to remind herself what a blessing it is to simply sit and listen to kids. 💙

•Heather is also incredibly proud of Hope House CAC's entire MDT! Their forensic interviewers, victim advocates, and the team that shows up every single day for Louisiana's children.😊

•We are so honored to have advocates like Heather fighting for kids across our state!!! ⚜️❤️

When a child discloses abuse, families are often faced with uncertainty and overwhelming next steps.

At Children’s Advocacy Center-Hope House, our Family Advocacy Program is here to walk alongside caregivers every step of the way.

Our advocates help families understand their child’s unique needs, provide trusted information and referrals, and offer support during the legal process.

No family should have to navigate this journey alone.

Through compassionate guidance and support, we help create a path forward rooted in hope, healing, and justice.

👏🏻Last week, Hope House was honored to host our first Stewards of Children Child Abuse Prevention Training in partnership with Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

We were thrilled to have a wonderful group of community members join us as they learned how to recognize the signs of child abuse, respond appropriately to concerns, and take an active role in protecting children.

Child abuse prevention starts with informed, vigilant adults. Every person who completes this training becomes another set of eyes, ears, and advocates for children in our community.

We are especially excited about this new partnership with Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, which will help us expand access to prevention education in Washington Parish and empower more adults with the tools they need to keep children safe.

Thank you to everyone who attended.🙏🏻

💡Interested in attending a future training? Stay tuned for upcoming Stewards of Children classes, or contact Hope House to learn more about bringing a training to your organization, school, church, or workplace.

We were honored to welcome Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser to Hope House this week as he toured our Covington headquarters and learned more about the work being done to support local child abuse victims and their families. 💙

During his visit, our team had the opportunity to share about the critical services Hope House provides across the Northshore, including forensic interviews, trauma-focused therapy, family advocacy, prevention education, and internet safety initiatives designed to help protect children before abuse occurs.

We are incredibly grateful for leaders who take the time to learn about the realities facing children and families in our region. Thank you, Lieutenant Governor Nungesser, for helping shine a light on the mission of protecting children and supporting families across Louisiana.🙏🏻

✨Community Partner Spotlight✨
Every mission depends on people who are willing to stand in the gap. At Hope House, our work is centered on children and families walking through some of the most difficult moments imaginable. That work requires trained advocates, compassionate professionals, generous donors, and community partners who understand that support does not always happen in the spotlight.

For more than a decade, BridgeNet Technology Consultants has been one of those partners. BridgeNet has provided complimentary technology support, strategic guidance, and ongoing care for the systems that help Hope House serve children and families every day. Much of their work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our organization. Reliable and secure technology helps our team communicate, protect sensitive information, coordinate services, and stay focused on the children who need us.

As Hope House continues to grow, BridgeNet continues to exceed our expectations. Their partnership has helped us remain connected, protected, and prepared for the future. That support is especially meaningful as we expand through the development of Brooke’s Place at the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust Campus.

BridgeNet CEO Bo Jakins has also personally invested in Hope House through years of hands-on community involvement. From stepping into the role of the Mad Hatter during past fundraising efforts to participating as a celebrity chef in Heroes Who Cook, serving on the Hope House Board of Directors, and chairing the Capital Campaign Committee for Brooke’s Place, Bo has remained deeply committed to helping advance the mission of Hope House. His leadership reflects BridgeNet’s broader belief that businesses should use their resources, expertise, relationships, and influence to strengthen the communities they serve.

“Hope House does work our entire community should be proud to stand behind. They serve children and families during moments when hope, safety, and advocacy matter most. BridgeNet is honored to play a small role in that mission by helping keep their technology reliable, secure, and ready for the future, so their team can stay focused on protecting children and giving them a voice,” says Bo Jakins, CEO of BridgeNet Technology Consultants.

We are deeply grateful for BridgeNet’s longstanding generosity, partnership, and belief in the mission of Hope House. Their support reminds us that meaningful community impact is not always loud or visible. Sometimes, it looks like a trusted partner quietly making sure the people doing the work have what they need to keep going.

Longtime Hope House supporters, sister and brother Ayushi and Abhijay Purohit, recently stopped by to deliver a generous donation they have been saving over the past several months.🙏🏻

They have chosen to dedicate their donation toward Dr. Chris Foret & Julie Foret’s Washington Parish Matching Gift Challenge.👏🏻

We are incredibly grateful for young people like Ayushi and Abhijay, whose generosity reminds us that making a difference has no age requirement. Thank you both for your continued support of our community’s children.💙
