The Never Forget 5K is more than a race. It is a tribute to the brave first responders and military members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

Through this event, we honor the lives of fallen law enforcement officers, firefighters, and military personnel while helping support the families they leave behind. Every step taken on race day is a reminder that their dedication, courage, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Today we remember Officer Theresa Elizabeth Simon of the Slidell Police Department. Officer Simon passed away on June 13, 2021, after suffering a heart attack following responses to numerous emergency calls.

Her dedication to serving and protecting her community will never be forgotten.

Today, we remember Sergeant Linden "Beau" Raimer, who proudly served with St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office for 10 years.

Sergeant Raimer tragically lost his life while participating in a funeral for one of his fallen brothers when a tree fell onto the vehicle he and his fiancée were traveling in. He is remembered for his dedication to service, his commitment to his community, and the impact he made on those around him.

His memory will never be forgotten.
