Northshore Food Bank was proud to partner in the second quarterly session of Nourishing the Northshore, a quarterly nutrition and wellness series.

Attendees learned from Dr. Lisa Casey, Dr. Eleanor Smith, and family medicine residents from the St. Tammany/Ochsner Family Medicine Residency Program about building balanced meals. The session also included a cooking demonstration of an Asian Peanut Bowl, and participants received ingredients to recreate the recipe at home.

Thank you to our partners at St. Tammany Health System for their continued support and to Magnolia Park COAST - Council on Aging St. Tammany Rec Center for hosting this quarter's session!

Together we are helping connect our community with practical tools and resources for healthier living.

Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Club of Covington on their beautiful new facility!

The Boys & Girls Club is one of our valued partners in the Kids Weekend Food Program, which provides nutritious food-filled bags to children each weekend during the school year. During the 2025-2026 school year, the program served more than 1,100 elementary students at eight Title I schools across St. Tammany Parish, as well as children at the Boys & Girls Club of Covington.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Slidell for another successful food drive at Sam's Club in Slidell!

Their volunteers collected more than 2,500 pounds of food donations to help stock our shelves at a time when donations are especially needed. The August heat didn't stop them from spending the day outside helping the community.

A special shoutout to our very own Elizabeth Branch, who was out there helping as a proud Rotary Club member.

We are grateful for the Rotary Club's continued support and commitment to helping families in need!
