Hunger in St. Tammany is often a hidden need.

Northshore Food Bank's CEO Yvette Roussel discusses the hidden reality of food insecurity in our community. While St. Tammany Parish is often recognized for its strong schools, thriving businesses, and quality of life, more than 46,000 local residents experience food insecurity.

We just wanted to give a special thank you and shout out to two annual events that have become special traditions for Northshore Food Bank.

Louisiana Cookin's Chefs to Watch Dinner brought together talented chefs from across Louisiana for an evening of incredible food, creativity, and community, benefiting Northshore Food Bank for the fifth consecutive year!

Farm Fête, hosted by The Pontchartrain Club, was the perfect way to enjoy last week's beautiful weather with live music and great company. Since its inception three years ago, Farm Fête has supported Northshore Food Bank while bringing our neighbors together for a great cause.

Thank you to everyone who helped make these events a success and support families facing hunger.

Pallets With Purpose wouldn't be possible without the generous support of our Area Sponsors. Thank you to Chevron, Keesler Federal Credit Union, Louisiana Healthcare Connections, POOLCORP, and The Al and Diane Kramer Foundation for helping bring this event to life while supporting Northshore Food Bank's mission to feed our neighbors in need.

We can't wait to see everyone on November 6!

Last week, we partnered with Our Friends Closet as finalists in the inaugural Northshore Collective Impact Fund Pitch Competition hosted by Northshore Community Foundation.

Our team pitched The HUB, a project designed to help students at high schools in St. Tammany Parish access food and hygiene essentials in a confidential and accessible way.

Although we weren't selected for the final award, we are proud of the partnership and grateful for the opportunity to share this project.

Congratulations to Future Ready Northshore, and thank you to Northshore Community Foundation for bringing together organizations that are working to meet needs across the Northshore!

We were so happy to host the Environmental Science classes from SSAcovdove1903 this week! 🌱

These students grow and harvest produce in their school garden and donate it to Northshore Food Bank. During their visit, they toured the Food Bank, learned more about our programs, and visited our garden.

Saint Scholastica students also volunteer at our Resale Shop throughout the year, and the school hosts an annual fall food drive to help keep our shelves stocked.

Thank you, Saint Scholastica Academy, for your continued partnership and support!

Thank you BOOtique Spooktacular & Butterfly FX for once again choosing Northshore Food Bank to be part of this event! 🎃

The Pie Walk was so much fun, and we were blown away by everyone's generosity. We are so grateful for the support shown throughout the event, with nearly 200lbs of nonperishable food collected and additional funds raised to support our neighbors in need.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and everyone who participated!

Just a few days left!

If you've been holding onto a jar of spare change, now is the perfect time to put it to work. Stop by a participating Resource Bank location through Wednesday and donate your coins to support Northshore Food Bank's mission of feeding our neighbors in need.

Thank you for helping make every penny count!

Hunger Action Month festivities continue!

From September 21-30, we're partnering with Resource Bank to help you make a CHANGE with your CHANGE. Drop off your spare coins at participating branches in Slidell, Mandeville (West Causeway), or Covington (Highway 21 and Village Walk), and simply let the teller know you'd like to donate to Northshore Food Bank.

Anyone can participate, whether you're a Resource Bank customer or not.

Every coin adds up to help provide meals for local families, so if you've been holding on to a jar of spare change, now is the perfect time to put it to work.
