The mission of ACCESS is to help support children with disabilities and their families in order to improve their quality of life.

Over the past three years we have raised over $120,000 to support families in Southeastern Louisiana and the Gulf South Region who have children with disabilities due to a variety of diagnoses such as

• Cerebral Palsy
• Spina Bifida
• Muscular Dystrophy
• Traumatic Brain Injuries
• Spinal Cord Injuries
• Stroke
• Autism

The funds are used to assist families in purchasing adaptive equipment, assistive devices, as well as home/auto modifications that are denied coverage by private insurance or Medicaid -- significantly improving the quality of life for these children. Our financial grants have provided funds for

• Custom manual and power wheelchairs
• Van modifications
• Adaptive bicycles
• Special needs car seats
• Home modifications to improve accessibility and safety
• Augmentative Communication devices

Join us October 31 at Lakeview Hospital. $3 admission gets you 60+ trick-or-treat houses, crafts, a costume contest, live entertainment, food, and more.

Gates open at 9am for special needs families.

Change of plans: the Jambalaya Cook-Off has been postponed!

The Ponchatoula Lions Club Jambalaya Cook-Off benefiting Access Louisiana, originally set for Saturday, October 24, will now take place later this year. We’ll share the new date as soon as it’s confirmed, so stay tuned!

Teams, keep perfecting that recipe. Business, family, and friends teams can still compete for First, Second, and Third place, plus the People’s Choice award. And for everyone coming hungry, all-you-can-eat jambalaya, drinks, b**r, and the 50/50 drawing are all still on the menu.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and a huge thank you to the Ponchatoula Lions Club for their continued support of our work. We can’t wait to see you there!

Boo Fest is back with 60+ trick-or-treat houses along a paved, accessible path, ghoulish games for all abilities, pumpkin decorating, Home Depot Little Builders, face painting, a costume contest, and live entertainment from The Mandeville Milkshakers and Be Hooper Be Happy. Plus food, a photo booth, and a grant awards ceremony celebrating ACCESS families.

This October 31st, thousands of families will gather at Lakeview Hospital for a day of trick-or-treating, games, and Halloween magic. And behind every decorated house and every smiling face is a sponsor who made it possible.

Something spooky is brewing for October 31st! 🎃👻 Boo Fest 2026 is almost here and we're getting ready to transform the Northshore into a Halloween wonderland.
