The Greater Covington NAACP was honored to attend the 2026 Greater Tangipahoa NAACP Advocacy & Image Awards Gala this past weekend.

We enjoyed an evening of fellowship, community engagement, and celebration while supporting the important work of the NAACP throughout our region. The event featured an inspiring message from guest speaker Gary Chambers, whose remarks encouraged continued advocacy, civic engagement, and commitment to justice and equality.

Thank you to the Greater Tangipahoa NAACP for hosting a wonderful event and for your continued leadership and service to the community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Juneteenth Celebration hosted by the Greater Covington NAACP and the City of Covington!

Despite the weather challenges and last-minute adjustments, our community came together to celebrate freedom, unity, culture, and history. We are grateful to our volunteers, sponsors, churches, vendors, performers, elected officials, city staff, and community partners who helped make this event possible.

Special thanks to all who donated food, supplies, time, and resources. Your generosity and commitment to our community helped create a meaningful celebration for families and residents of all ages.

Juneteenth is a reminder of the resilience, strength, and perseverance of those who came before us and the work that continues today in pursuit of equality and justice for all.

Thank you for celebrating with us. We look forward to continuing this tradition and making next year's celebration even bigger and better!

IMPORTANT VOTING INFORMATION!

The U.S. Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act. This could mean the end of majority Black election districts, including those of Congressmen Cleo Fields and Troy Carter.

It's no surprise that MAGA Louisiana officials want to go back to the days when Black people had no political power. Let's show them what they're up against. Vote in the upcoming elections in numbers they have never seen before!
