The Brink of War is an upcoming American historical drama that centers on the two-day nuclear summit in Reykjavík, Iceland, in 1986, where President Reagan attempted to negotiate with Soviet leader Gorbachev to reduce nuclear arsenals, a pivotal moment in Cold War history. The story highlights the high-stakes tension and emotional exchanges as both leaders navigated the possibility of global nuclear disaster.

The Brink of War is scheduled for theatrical release on August 14, 2026. Dennis Charlesworth is attempting to arrange with Movie Tavern a special showing of this film for Post 16 members, military personnel and their families.

Anyone interested in attending a special showing of The Brink of War is asked to respond to this posting or contact either Dennis or the Legion office. Your feedback will be beneficial in making arrangements with Movie Tavern.

You don’t want to miss seeing this movie! Honor the “Greatest Generation “ and remember the sacrifices they made on our behalf.

On June 6, 1944, young men stepped into the unknown and onto the beaches of Normandy. Many never came home.

D-Day was more than a military operation—it was a battle against one of history’s greatest evils and a turning point in the fight for freedom.
Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who answered the call. Their legacy reminds us that liberty is never free and that each generation has a responsibility to defend it.
We remember the fallen. We honor the survivors. We give thanks for the heroes of D-Day.
