Prayer and fasting don’t just draw us closer to God—they prepare us for the greater assignments He has for us.

Our mission was never simply to go through the motions of everyday life. We’ve been called to love people, make disciples, serve others, and advance the Kingdom.

Throughout Scripture, we see people seek God through prayer and fasting before stepping into something bigger than themselves. In that place of intimacy and surrender, God brought direction, clarity, and purpose.

A greater assignment will:
• Be significant
• Be purpose-driven
• Advance the Kingdom
• Serve others
• Stretch your faith

And sometimes, what God calls us to will feel bigger than what we can accomplish on our own. That’s the point. It requires a level of faith and dependence that keeps us close to Him.

The question isn’t only, “God, what do You have for me?”
It’s also, “What have You placed in me that someone else needs?”

Sometimes following God feels a lot like standing at the edge of something high.

You know where you are, but you can’t see exactly what comes next. Everything in you wants to step back toward what feels safe, familiar, and within your control.

But trust isn’t always knowing what the next step looks like. Sometimes trust is simply knowing Who is leading you.

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.” — Psalm 37:5

Yesterday, we were reminded that pursuing God requires surrender. Fasting teaches us to lay down our own desires, our own plans, and our need to know what comes next—and become more dependent on Him.

We may not always know where obedience will lead. We may not be able to see what’s on the other side. But we can trust the One who does.

God’s will may take us beyond what feels comfortable, but He will never lead us somewhere He won’t sustain us.

Keep pursuing Him. Keep surrendering. Keep trusting.

He’s got you. 🤍

August is an invitation.

An invitation to quiet the noise.
To make room for His voice.
To seek Him before seeking answers.
To trade distractions for devotion.

As a church family, we’re setting aside this month for prayer and fasting, believing that when we draw near to God, He draws near to us. We’d love for you to join us.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8

Alignment isn’t something that happens in a single Sunday service. It’s a daily decision.

Every day we choose what will shape our thoughts, capture our hearts, direct our steps, and influence our priorities.

This week, maybe the question isn’t, “What do I want?” but rather, “What is God inviting me to align with?”

When our minds are set on Him, our hearts begin to love what He loves. Our will becomes surrendered to His. Our lives start reflecting His Kingdom instead of the world’s, and we learn to recognize His voice above all the noise.

Keep seeking the things above. One surrendered step at a time.

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” — Colossians 3:2
