Our support for the Mowery family continues. As the girls transition back into school and Jenn prepares to transition back to work, we know the days ahead will be filled with new routines, responsibilities, and plenty of moments where there simply aren’t enough hours in the day.

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our Marching Lion Booster President, Chip Mowery, on Sunday night.

Over the past three years, Chip poured his heart into the Covington High Marching Lions as a dedicated band dad. He faithfully served as our Booster Vice President last year and was enthusiastically elected as this year’s Booster President—a testament to the respect, admiration, and trust he earned from our band family. His unwavering support, generous spirit, humorous antics, and genuine love for our students have left a lasting mark on our program.

Above all else, Chip was a devoted husband and father. He leaves behind his beloved wife and two beautiful daughters, who are now facing an unimaginable loss. We ask that you keep the Mowery family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

In the coming days, the Marching Lions will share several opportunities for our community to support the Mowery family. We encourage everyone to check our page regularly for updates on ways you can help.

Visitation services will be held Monday, where the Covington High Brass Band will have the honor of playing in tribute to Chip as friends and family gather to celebrate his life.

Chip was more than a booster president—he was family. His kindness, leadership, and unwavering dedication will never be forgotten.
