Congratulations to Daniel J. Boffa, MD, MBA, FACS, on beginning his two-year term as Chair of the ACS Commission on Cancer (CoC).

Dr. Boffa brings extensive experience in cancer quality and outcomes to the role, including his work as chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Yale New Haven Health and his longstanding leadership within the ACS and CoC.

As Chair, he will help guide efforts to advance high-quality cancer care across approximately 1,400 CoC-accredited programs, with a focus on supporting cancer care teams amid workforce and financial challenges.

Cancer Programs was pleased to be part of ACS Central at Clinical Congress 2026 in Washington, DC.

Throughout the meeting, Cancer Programs staff connected with attendees and shared information about our accreditation programs, cancer staging, operative standards, quality improvement initiatives, education, and other resources available to support high-quality cancer care.
