📣 SOMA Foundation Vice-Chairperson Applications Are Open!
The SOMAF Vice-Chairperson serves a two-year term on the SOMAF Governing Board and concurrently serves as the Student Director and SOMAF Liaison to the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) Board of Directors.
As SOMAF’s second-in-command, the Vice-Chairperson works closely with the President to support Board operations, organizational priorities, scholarships and grants, fundraising, outreach, and strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the SOMAF President and assuming presidential duties when needed
• Helping coordinate Board priorities, projects, deadlines, and meetings
• Serving as SOMAF Board Secretary and maintaining meeting minutes and archives
• Preparing meeting agendas with the President
• Delivering quarterly SOMAF updates to the AOF Board of Directors
• Serving as a full voting Student Director on the AOF Board
• Representing the osteopathic medical student perspective within AOF
• Serving on approximately two AOF committees each year
• Supporting collaboration among SOMAF, SOMA, AOF, donors, sponsors, and organizational partners
Eligibility: Must be a current SOMA member who has previously served as President or National Liaison Officer of their SOMA chapter.
