Registration is open for the Brain Tumor Patient and Caregiver Forum, hosted by the Lou & Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute of Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.

This complimentary hybrid program is designed to provide brain tumor patients, caregivers and families with information and resources for navigating treatment, survivorship and the challenges associated with a brain tumor diagnosis.

The program will feature presentations on:
• Services and resources available through the American Brain Tumor Association
• Nutrition during brain tumor treatment and survivorship
• What happens behind the scenes of a clinical trial
• Current advances in brain tumor research and treatment
Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A session with experts.

Last month, several of our team members attended the American Brain Tumor Association National Conference. There, they had the opportunity to connect with patients and caregivers from across the country.

Neuro-oncologist Priya Kumthekar, MD, and neurosurgeons Mark Youngblood, MD, PhD, and Stephen Magill, MD, PhD, as well as Researcher Peng Zhang, PhD, attended the conference.

We look forward to connecting with everyone at this annual event again in 2027.

Join Lou Malnati's Cancer Research Foundation on Saturday, September 26, for its 54th Annual Cancer Research Benefit.

For more than five decades, the foundation has supported cancer research and patient support programs throughout the Chicago area. In 2025 alone, the event raised more than $470,000, with proceeds benefiting cancer research at the Northwestern Medicine Lou & Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute, as well as support programs at Gilda's Club Chicago and Pickles Group.

Thank you to everyone who joined the Malnati Brain Tumor Institute 2026 Summer Rooftop Celebration.

Patients, families, advocates, physicians, researchers and supporters gathered for an evening benefiting the Patient and Family Assistance Fund, which helps ease the financial burden of treatment so patients can focus on what matters most: healing and spending time with loved ones.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, attendees and supporters, more than $50,000 was raised to benefit the fund and support patients and families facing a brain tumor diagnosis.
