After nearly ten years of development, collaboration and testing, the G4 Alliance has launched the global pilot of the Operative Encounter Module of the World Health Organization Clinical Registry, bringing participating hospitals together around a shared goal: turning routine operative data into better quality, safer care and stronger surgical systems.

“No child should miss the chance for a healthy future because a congenital condition was not detected early enough,” said Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General.

A recently released WHO report is calling on countries to expand newborn screening for birth defects, highlighting how early detection and treatment can reduce lifelong disability for millions of children.

On July 7, MiracleFeet, a member of the Global Alliance for Congenital Conditions (GACC), is supporting a webinar to discuss how this report can improve outcomes for children with birth defects.
