Rent is too high. Groceries are too high. Utility bills are too high. Childcare, healthcare, and the cost of simply existing keep rising.

As Pride Month comes to a close, we honor the Black q***r and trans visionaries whose courage, creativity, and leadership have shaped Black feminisms and transformed our movements.

Before Pride became a celebration, it was a movement. A movement imagined, organized, and led by Black q***r and trans visionaries who dared to envision liberation beyond what existed. They challenged systems of oppression, spoke truth to power, and built blueprints for liberation.

At Black Feminist Future, those blueprints remain our guideposts. They shape how we organize, imagine, and build Black feminist futures.

Black q***r and trans leadership is not adjacent to Black feminisms. It is foundational to it. That truth has always guided our work, and it will continue to shape the future we’re building together.

They imagined.

We continue.

Last week at the NOVA Summit, Black reproductive health, rights, and justice leaders came together to align, fortify, and build.

We asked participants to describe their experience in a single word.

What came back wasn’t just feedback. It was a reflection of what becomes possible when Black feminists gather with shared purpose.

Across three days, we strengthened relationships, sharpened strategy, and deepened our collective commitment to one another and the work ahead.

NOVA was never meant to be a moment.

It is part of a larger effort to align, fortify, and position the Black reproductive health, rights, and justice ecosystem for collective action, collaboration, and sustained movement building.

The words speak for themselves.

The work continues.

NOVA SUMMIT DAY 2 🦋

A day filled with love, laughter, and collective world-building. We spent time getting grounded in the current landscape of the Black reproductive ecosystem, hearing from brilliant panelists who shared wisdom, insight, and words of empowerment. We broke bread together, reconnected with community, built new relationships, and began imagining a future that will be a force to reckon with.

Researchers have found that Black households face a median energy burden that is 45% higher than other households. Women, low-income women, and female-headed households with children experience even more energy insecurity.

When we say, “We ain’t got it,” we are speaking about a real, material situation.

Fighting back means changing the conditions that keep Black women, girls, and gender-expansive people always struggling to survive. This includes demanding that corporations take responsibility, protecting our neighborhoods from exploitation, and pushing back against the control of capitalism in our lives.

Black women, girls, and gender-expansive people deserve to live, work, rest, and be safe in the communities we help build.

If you’re ready to clap back at corporations and get them off our backs, drop a 👊🏿
