Today we honor the incomparable Marian Anderson 🎉
A voice of unparalleled depth, dignity, and grace, Marian Anderson didn’t just sing — she shifted history.

From her groundbreaking 1939 concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to becoming the first Black artist to perform with the Metropolitan Opera, she opened doors that had long been closed and redefined what was possible for generations to come.

Her artistry was rooted in excellence. Her presence was rooted in courage. Her legacy continues to resonate across concert halls, opera stages, and classrooms around the world.

At the Black Leadership Arts Collective, we celebrate Marian Anderson not only for the beauty of her voice, but for the power of her example — resilience, integrity, and unwavering commitment to artistic truth.

Happy Birthday, Marian Anderson. Your song still leads the way. ✨🎶
