Dr. William G. Anderson was a veteran, a civil rights leader, and a philanthropist, dedicated to the next generation of Osteopathic physicians. He established his William G. Anderson, DO Scholarship Fund with the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) 25 years ago, providing Osteopathic medical students with scholarships. Student Doctors Lindsey Cain, Noelle Doody, Nathanial Nass, Kenneth Quezada, Brandon Rein, and Cara Satoskar have all been selected as they have achieved academic excellence, display exemplary leadership, give of themselves through volunteer/community activities, and embody Osteopathic tenets and philosophy.

From these six finalists, a Golden Ticket Winner will be announced at the AOF 2026 Honors Gala on October 23rd in Las Vegas.

The Advocates for the AOA (AAOA), in partnership with the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF), created the Holiday Hug Grants in 2020 to help medical students or residents with year-end expenses. This research grant is given annually to support the research of one Osteopathic medical student, resident, or new physician in practice who is contributing to scholarly work on the biomechanical, biomedical, or clinical aspects of Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM).
