Weโ€™re excited to welcome Joanne M. Conroy, MD to the 2026 Women in Medicine Summitโ„ข.

Showing up as your full self in medicine? Thatโ€™s powerful.

This Pride Month, Women in Medicine is hosting Showing Up: LGBTQ+ Physicians on Identity, Care & Community โ€” a webinar centering LGBTQ+ physician leaders and the conversations healthcare needs more of.

Weโ€™re talking identity. Leadership. Patient care. Belonging. The realities of practicing as LGBTQ+ providers. The importance of affirming care. And the role of community in building health systems where people are not just included, but truly seen.

Featuring:

Jailyn Avila, MD
Emergency physician and gender-affirming health care advocate

Jessica Bunin, MD, FACP, FCCM
Psychiatrist, critical care intensivist and Associate Dean of DEI at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences

Taking up space in medicine isnโ€™t about being louder for the sake of it.

Itโ€™s about speaking up when it matters.
Being unapologetic about your voice.
And becoming the kind of positive disruptor healthcare needs.

Olivia Richman, MD, knows the power of physician voices โ€” online, in rooms, in systems, and in the conversations that shape what comes next.

At the Women in Medicine Summitโ„ข, weโ€™re bringing together women and allies who are ready to lead differently, challenge what needs changing, and build something better together.

Medicine doesnโ€™t move forward when women shrink. It moves forward when women take up space.

Weโ€™re excited to welcome Debra Houry, MD, MPH to the 2026 Women in Medicine Summitโ„ข.

Her session, โ€œWhat I Learned from the ER: How to Lead with Integrity Through Chaos,โ€ will explore what crisis leadership really requires โ€” from making high-stakes decisions under pressure to protecting trust, science and mission when the room gets loud.

Dr. Houry is a nationally recognized physician, researcher and public health leader with nearly three decades of experience across emergency medicine, federal public health, health systems and academia. A board-certified emergency physician, former CDC Chief Medical Officer and Deputy Director for Program and Science, and senior fellow at the Yale University School of Public Health, she brings a rare perspective on leading through complexity with clarity, courage and integrity.
