🌱 Planting Seeds for the Future

At the KNOX Family Foundation, we believe every young person is a seed filled with potential. When we provide the right opportunities, encouragement, knowledge, and support, we give them what they need to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. 💚

This week, our KNOX STEM Explorers became Seed Scientists! 🪴🔬 Students planted their own seeds while learning how water, soil, sunlight, and air work together to help plants grow. They made observations, predictions, and will track their plants’ growth over the coming weeks.

And just like the seeds they planted, we’re planting seeds in our youth today that we believe will grow for years to come. 🌱

Plant the seed. Nurture the potential. Watch them grow.

🏎️ KNOX STEM Explorers: From Design to Drive!

Our young KNOX STEM Explorers were engineers today! 🛠️⚙️

Students took on the challenge of designing and building their own wooden race cars, working through the process of planning, assembling, problem-solving, and bringing their ideas to life.

The best part? Seeing the focus while they were building-and the smiles when they saw what they created! 🙌🏾

This is what our LEARN initiative is all about: giving young people opportunities to experience STEM through creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning.

We’re not just building cars-we’re helping build confidence, curiosity, and future innovators. 🚀

We’re thrilled to announce that our Founder & CEO, Glenn Knox, has been selected for the 2026 BMO Fellowship, powered by Watson Institute !

Glenn will join a network of small business owners and entrepreneurs building solutions to advance economic resilience, expand access to opportunity, and strengthen local economies across BMO’s national footprint.

Over the next 16 weeks, he’ll have access to training, expert-led workshops, and an incredible network - all as his cohort works together toward expanding financial services for underbanked communities, supporting small businesses, and growing homeownership opportunities.

Since its launch, the BMO Fellowship has supported 37 Fellows who’ve collectively raised $11.9M in capital, created 103 jobs, and positively impacted more than 1,500 people.

We’re incredibly proud to see our Founder represent the Knox Family Foundation as part of the next cohort, and we look forward to the knowledge, relationships, and opportunities this experience will bring to our continued work in the communities we serve!

BIG NEWS: Creating Pathways. Building Second Chances. 💚

We are proud to partner with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office to bring our LEAD Reentry Workforce & Leadership Initiative directly to returning citizens at the Cook County Jail.

Through LEAD, participants will gain access to workforce readiness, career preparation, leadership development, life skills, mentorship, and supportive resources designed to help prepare them for a successful transition back into their communities.

This partnership represents more than programming-it represents opportunity, preparation, and a commitment to what comes next.

When returning citizens have the tools to succeed, the impact extends beyond one individual. Families become stronger. Communities become stronger. Futures change.

We are grateful to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office for partnering with us to invest in second chances and meaningful pathways forward.
