Pattison’s Academy Charter School turned back the clock on Friday for an all-school Sock Hop, and it was nothing short of swell!
Cupcakes and soda floats kept everyone’s sweet tooth happy all morning long, while 50s hits had kiddos and families dancing before the day even got started. The tunes were an instant fan favorite, with students jiving, twisting, and showing off their best moves in their gait trainers, standers, and strollers!
And the attire? Poodle skirts, rolled-up jeans, and plenty of snazzy style made every hallway feel like a trip straight back to the 1950s.
Thank you to every student and family who came out to twist, sip, and celebrate together. Moments like these make Pattison’s Academy feel like one big family!

Last week, Pattison's Academy's Charter School kicked off our Unified Club again, welcoming 7th and 8th graders from Mason Prep for an afternoon of connection in Ms. Haley and Mrs. Kyra's classes!
These Mason Prep students did not just show up. Each one completed an application sharing why they wanted to join Unified Club and spend time with Pattison's kiddos, making their visit even more meaningful.
Students kicked things off with "get to know your buddy" worksheets, learning all about their new friends before teaming up for a high-energy game of live-action Pac-Man!
Moments like these are exactly what Unified Club is about: building friendships, breaking down barriers, and reminding every student that they belong.

When we say inclusion, we mean it. Pattison's Academy Charter School is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in all of our classes! Today, Ms. Katie and Ms. Tonya's classes had a special guest join the two rooms: our CEO, Laura, who is originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, joined in to make arepas through adapted cooking.

The celebration went beyond the recipe. Latino music played throughout the rooms, students made adapted maracas to join in the rhythm, and a sombrero vueltiao, the traditional Colombian hat, made an appearance too. Laura even showed Ms. Katie a proper dance, bringing a true taste of her culture into the classroom!

Adapted cooking gives every student a hands-on way to explore new cultures, flavors, and traditions, building independence, sensory exploration, and joy into every step of the recipe. Sharing a taste of her own heritage made the day even more meaningful.

Twenty years in, moments like these are exactly what Pattison's Academy was built for, meeting every student where they are and opening the door to new experiences!

What an event! The Charleston Beach Olympics has raised more than $ 10 K, and that amount is still climbing with every dollar that goes directly to Pattison's Academy's Summer Camp.

Summer Camp relies heavily on donations like this because federal and state funding doesn't cover it. Each camper's tuition costs our nonprofit roughly $7,000, so every gift makes a real impact, giving a child an adventure and therapeutic-filled summer they'll never forget.

Thank you to everyone who competed, cheered, volunteered, and supported this event, and a huge thank you to our sponsors for making it all possible. Because of you, children of all abilities get the chance to experience the joy of camp!

Today was Twin Day for Charleston County School District’s Attendance Spirit Week—and Pattison's Academy Charter School had some fun with it! We had twins, quadruplets, and one whole class dressed up as Minions. Thankfully, no moons were stolen!

For our students with multiple disabilities and medical complexities, showing up each day is something worth celebrating. Today, we got to have a little extra fun doing it!

Bubbles were the lesson in our littlest learners' classroom this week, and it's better science than it looks.

At Pattison's Academy, popping and chasing bubbles builds real occupational and physical therapy skills, fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, reaching, and balance, all wrapped in pure joy. It's a favorite across all four of our programs: Early Intervention, Charter School, Therapy Services, and Summer Camp.

What an incredible day! Our Pattison's Academy Charter School students ran Madi's Rollin' Roast coffee cart today at Live for Wellness's Give Back Day, using AAC devices and sign language to take orders and their fine motor skills to brew each cup. Watching them shine like this is exactly what 20 years of unlocking potential looks like.
