It's only fitting that we give our biggest send-off to the biggest personality on campus!
Congratulations to our 2026 graduating senior, Andrew Gaillard! Your time at Charter School has meant the world to us, and we are so proud of everything you've accomplished. Luckily for us, we're not done celebrating just yet—we'll see you at Summer Camp!

Progress looks different for every student, and last week, we celebrated ALL of it.
Our 'Moving On Up' Ceremony honored our Pre-K 4 and 8th-grade students who have worked hard, grown tremendously, and are ready for their next chapter.
To every student staying with us and every student taking their next steps in their educational journey: we are so proud of you. Congratulations on an incredible 2025-2026 school year!

As our Charter School year comes to a close, we're getting excited for our Therapeutic Summer Camp, which is just around the corner! Our program is primarily community-funded, and there are a few simple ways you can help. We're asking friends of Pattison's Academy to check their closets for any of the following gently-used or new items:

- Beach towels
- Bathing suits
- Comfortable pants and shorts
- Elbow, wrist, and knee safety pads

We're looking for both adult and kid sizes in all items. Your donations help make sure we're fully prepared for everything Summer Camp has in store, and we'd love for you to be a part of it!

Today's letter is T as we continue our ABC Countdown at Charter School! Classes had a blast working on color identification, choice-making, and motor skills through some really fun art projects. From blending markers with water to tie-dyeing shirts, creativity was in full swing today!

This year, we had the incredible honor of piloting our very first Unified Club in partnership with Mason Prep—and what a journey it has been.
Month after month, students from Mason Prep and Pattison's Academy came together, learned from one another, discovered new dance moves, and built friendships that will last far beyond the school year.
Our final club meeting was nothing short of unforgettable. Craft tables overflowing with creativity, the dance floor packed, a photo booth in full swing, a balloon arch that stole the show, and a visit from Mr. Softee himself—our hearts are truly full.
To our forever friends at Mason Prep, thank you. This year simply would not have been the same without you. Here's to many more!

As the school year winds down, we're already looking ahead to 2026–2027! If you or your family are interested in attending Pattison's Academy Charter School, we still have a few openings in our grades 3–8 multi-disability rooms.
Example diagnoses: Cerebral Palsy, Genetic Conditions, Orthopedic Impairments, and other Neurological Conditions.

Our music therapy program with Charleston Music Therapy, LLC is hitting all the right notes!

Each session takes students on a journey—starting with regulation work (like breathing exercises set to song), moving into sensory experiences with scarves or drums for tactile and auditory input, and gradually building toward attention and cognition. From there, our music therapist, Rebecca, gets everyone moving with shared music experiences featuring egg shakers or dance.

Rebecca describes music therapy at Pattison’s Academy as connection, communication, and autonomy: “Music organically regulates, stretches attention, and allows for each student to essentially gain a voice. It is a pleasure to work with so many in-tune teachers and therapists at Pattison's."

For the last 26 full days of Charter School, our classes and therapists participate in the ABC Countdown. Today's letter was M for Marshmallow Day! Our classes worked on hand-eye coordination to place and press spoons or triggers with marshmallows, then release them from catapults or marshmallow shooting devices. Some classes used math to find the correct amount of chocolate for the s'mores culinary portion of the day. Others used AAC devices, verbal words, or symbols for color identification while painting with marshmallows to create wonderful works of art! Students also used their eyegaze devices to discuss when marshmallows are most commonly enjoyed—like from cozy campfires! What a fun, therapy-filled, academic, and fluffy day!
