Due to the high volume requests to volunteer, I thought we’d save you a little time and post some more info and frequently asked questions 🙂
VOLUNTEER Q&A ❤️
Q: What time does volunteering start?
A: We begin cooking and food prep around 10AM. Around 12PM–1PM we package meals, organize bags/supplies, and load up vehicles for outreach.
Q: Do I need experience to help?
A: Nope! Anyone with a kind heart and willingness to help is welcome.
Q: What can volunteers help with?
A: Cooking, packing meals, organizing donations, making bags, loading vehicles, cleanup, and helping us prepare for outreach.
Q: Can I come later if I can’t make it at 10?
A: Yes! Even helping for a short amount of time makes a difference.
Q: Can children volunteer?
A: Yes! Children are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Q: Can children come on deliveries?
A: Unfortunately, no. For safety reasons, children cannot attend deliveries/outreach routes.
Q: Can everyone ride in the delivery vehicles?
A: Sometimes space in the delivery vehicles is limited or unavailable, so not everyone may be able to join deliveries each week.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Q: What donations do you need most?
A: Nonperishable foods, canned goods, sweet treats, hygiene items, bags, batteries, cutlery, drinks, and snacks are always appreciated.
Q: What if I’m nervous to come alone?
A: A lot of people come alone their first time! We do our best to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
Q: Why do we do this?
A: Because everybody deserves kindness, dignity, food, and support ❤️
