Charleston Parks Conservancy

Charleston Parks Conservancy When parks thrive, people thrive. Parks bring people together.

As Charleston grows, reclaiming, rejuvenating, nurturing, and advancing the use of public parks is of the utmost importance. A feeling of kinship and stewardship with parks creates a shared sense of place among our neighbors and fellow citizens. The Charleston Parks Conservancy works to create, expand, sustain, and reinvigorate Charleston’s urban parks to ensure that Charleston will be a wondrous,

welcoming and active place now, and for future generations. To accomplish our goal of improving and preserving public parks, we foster partnerships throughout the Charleston area. With these resources, expert staff and a passionate corps of volunteers, the Park Angels, work side-by-side to rejuvenate parks and create opportunities for community engagement through park programs. By rallying support and catalyzing action, the Charleston Parks Conservancy cultivates stunning city parks. We believe that high quality parks contribute to a higher quality of life, and great parks build strong communities.

Join us for our Fall Pollinator Caretakers Training! 🐝

During this hands-on training, volunteers will learn from the Conservancy’s own pollinator expert, Becca Hudson, about the importance of pollinator habitats and how to care for these beautiful spaces throughout the fall season.

After the training, volunteers will be assigned to one of our three pollinator gardens to care for throughout the season.

This is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to make a meaningful impact with a flexible volunteer commitment. Whether you’re new to gardening or have plenty of experience, all are welcome!

Public art is coming to Medway Community Garden and Mulberry Park & Food Forest!

We have earned a S.C. Arts Commission grant to create and install two sculptures in Charleston city parks. The Medway piece is an interactive sculpture highlighting the new cut flower garden and the Mulberry sculpture will be a large dragonfly overlooking the pond in the park.

To bring these sculptures to life, we need your help! We are calling on the community to raise the remaining funds needed in order to introduce one-of-a-kind artwork to your parks.
