Attention RRCA South Carolina clubs! If you are unable to attend the Annual Meeting of the Membership next month, I can carry your votes by proxy! Please see the info below for instructions:
The Bylaws of the RRCA allow for the assignment of a proxy vote for member clubs and events. If an RRCA member club or event is not sending their official voting representative (president, director, or owner) to the Annual Meeting of the Membership, then the voting rights of that club or event may be assigned to another authorized representative attending the meeting in person. That person must be qualified by being a member of either the same club or event or from another qualified club or event in good standing in the same state. In accordance with the RRCA bylaws, a proxy cannot be held for clubs or events from different states.
To assign voting rights to a qualified proxy on behalf of your club or event organization, the authorized representative must complete the online Voting Rights Assignment Form (link below) before April 9, 2020 (5:00 PM Eastern). The Voting Rights Assignment Form will have further instructions to share with proxy holders to finalize the process.
A word about proxy voting for 2021: This year is the year to assign your proxy if you do not plan to attend the RRCA Annual Meeting of the Membership. Why? We need to ensure a quorum, which includes proxy votes in the count for quorum, elections, and the important process of approving the updated bylaws (see above). With the approval of the new bylaws comes retirement of the out-dated process of proxy assignments and voting and will allow the RRCA to implement online voting for members moving forward.
