We had so much fun last night at the very first meeting of Book Club in the Park with KNCB at Quarterman Park! Next month's meeting will be held July 16 at 6pm at the Oak Park Bird Park! Join Keep North Charleston Beautiful for a summer volunteer opportunity at Quarterman Park on Thursday, June 11 from 4-6pm. We'll be dividing and installing plants in a flowerbed and performing general beautification and landscaping tasks in flowerbeds throughout the park. This is a great opportunity for students to earn volunteer hours over the summer - we're happy to sign forms for schools! Thanks so much to the Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS® for hosting a litter cleanup as part of their national, week-long "REALTORS are Good Neighbors Week!" Volunteers spent two hours picking up six bags of litter from neighborhood streets in North Charleston!

School's (almost) out for the summer! 🌞

Know a student who needs volunteer hours for school? Summer is a great time to check those hours off the list! ✔ KNCB is happy to host student volunteers (15+, please, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian) to help work in our gardens and food forest in North Charleston. No experience necessary! Email [email protected] to schedule a time to volunteer!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to the North Charleston Plant Swap this past Saturday!🪴We had more than 180 attendees swapping 1200+ plants!

We couldn't have done it without the amazing North Charleston Recreation Department and members of the Camellia Garden Club of Greater Charleston along with all of the community volunteers who helped throughout the swap. 👏

Thank you to The Rustic Muffin food truck for offering amazing breakfast items and beverages ☕ for all of the attendees. If you didn't get a chance to visit during the swap, be sure to check out their shop in Summerville!

Finally - a big thank you to the businesses who donated additional plants to the swap so we could offer a larger variety to swap attendees: Meeting Green, Mad Props, Hyams Garden Center, and Roots & Shoots!

Save the Date - next Spring's swap will be held on the first Saturday in May - May 1, 2027! 📅

KNCB has been busy planting flowers and revitalizing Quarterman Park. As part of the revitalization efforts we are starting a bookclub that will meet in the park. It will be call KNCB Bookclub in the Park. If you would like to join the bookclub and read books and make new friends please join the Park Circle Little Free Libraries page. We have several post there about the the upcoming book club. Hope to see you there.
