Lights On Afterschool is coming up THIS Thursday! 💡

In just a few days, afterschool programs around the country will celebrate the impact of afterschool by hosting fun events in their communities. We hope to see you out there! But if you can’t join in person, there’s another way to help raise awareness about the importance of funding afterschool programs: the Lights On Afterschool Lightbulb Challenge!

Here’s what to do:

💡Take a photo of yourself posing in the shape of a lightbulb! It can be just you, you and your colleagues, or you and all the kids in your afterschool program!
💡Post it with the hashtags and
💡Then challenge your followers to do the same!

Special Alert: Statewide BOOST and VIP&BOOST Funding now available https://hubs.ly/Q04Bsh0Y0

Applications due Dec. 10.

Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) is accepting applications for FY 2026–27 Statewide BOOST grants supporting before-school, afterschool, and summer programs for youth ages 5–18. This opportunity is specifically for statewide youth-serving nonprofits with 501(c)(4) status applying on behalf of at least three subrecipients. Applicants may request up to $975,000 over three years, with no matching funds required.

PCCD also announced the availability of funding through the FY 2026-27 Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) and Building Opportunities Through Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Grant Program.

The goal of the FY 2026-27 VIP and BOOST funding is to support a wide range of local community violence prevention and intervention strategies, including, but not limited to, upstream prevention for at-risk school-age youth2 and intervention strategies designed to address violence that is already occurring in communities.

Organizations with 501(c)(3) status and other eligible applicants should refer to the separate FY26–27 VIP + BOOST funding announcement.

Flight Crew members build leadership, communication, and advocacy skills while connecting with other young people who are passionate about STEM. They represent their states, explore STEM careers, participate in unique virtual and in-person experiences, and share their STEM stories on regional and national stages.

Past Flight Crew members have spoken at events held by NASA, the National STEM Festival, SXSW EDU, NASEM, and more.
