Family Promise HCR has spent 15 years helping families in need—579 sheltered, 16,000+ meals served, 39,000+ safe nights given, and 181 families supported this year alone.

Dad got housing!! Woot! We are super stoked when families find housing and can move on to the next chapter of their lives. When a families moves we:
1. Send a referral to organizations like New Digs Ministry, Inc. to provide furnishings, if needed.
2. Connect them with the new school district.
3. Provide a inflatable mattress and bedding to get them started.
4. Fill up a big bag of cleaning supplies, and health and beauty aids.
5. Let them know that we continue to be a resource for them! We want them to reach out should they need anything!

The Google reviews are in and we're rated Best Social Service Organization East Pennsboro Township for 2026! What a pleasant unexpected surprise! We work really hard to serve the community in a compassionate, caring, and impactful way. It's great to have an acknowledgment that folks are feeling that hard work. Our previous intern Destiny has started a non-profit called "Barnabas Blooms." She provides flowers and encouragement to those experiencing homelessness. She dropped off said bouquets for our families this week! Thanks Destiny!

Happy 16th Anniversary, Family Promise HCR!

16 years of helping families navigate some really hard seasons, work toward stability, and find their way HOME.

And 16 years of people coming together because they believe families deserve more than just a place to stay.

We are incredibly grateful for the staff, volunteers, host congregations, donors, and community partners who have been part of this journey. This work takes a community, and we are lucky to have one that continues to show up.

Sixteen years is a pretty big deal, but we're not done yet. There are still families who need us, goals we're working toward, and so much more to do.

Thank you for being part of the Family Promise HCR story. Here's to what comes next!

FPHCR couldn't do its work of assisting families experiencing homelessness without the partnership of congregations, business, foundations and SO many individuals! It's said that "It takes a village," and this is our village.

Today we get to celebrate our Program Director, Christine, and we are going to take a minute to brag about her because she deserves it!

We get to work alongside Christine, not just as our Program Director, but as someone we can count on, laugh with, and work through the hard stuff with. This work comes with plenty of challenges, and having good people beside you makes all the difference. Having someone who understands the heart behind what we do makes it even more special.

Christine, thank you for the heart you put into this organization and the families we serve. Thank you for being someone our team can count on and for being such a big part of Family Promise. We are lucky to get to do this work with you.

Help us wish Christine a very happy work anniversary! We’re so glad you’re part of this Family Promise family.

Typically the church is dark on a Sunday night, but on this night Grace Lutheran Church in Camp Hill is hosting Family Promise HCR guests. The church provides a meal; a safe comfortable place to stay overnight; hospitality; and drivers for the FPHCR van.

Many churches have rooms that are empty during the week. Those rooms could be used to house families overnight, a few times a year, and make a real impact on family homelessness. Interested? Contact [email protected] and let's start a conversation.

Remember as a kid how parents would ask "What have you been up to?" It wasn't ususally good. Well, here's what we've been up to for the past year and it's been great!
During our 2025-2026 fiscal year, with help from our many partners we were able to provide:
- A safe place to stay for families that haven't felt safe in a long time.
- Diapers so that babies can stay healthy and attend daycare allowing parents to work.
-Hours upon hours of guiding callers to resources and offering a listening ear.
-Assistance with utilities through Dollar Energy.
-Transportation so folks can work and provide for their families.
-Funding and guidance to help folks stay in their homes. Because staying in your home is easier than finding one after you've been evicted.
