IT’S ALMOST HERE!

Tomorrow, we officially kick off the Pennsylvania State Resource Family Association’s 50th Annual Conference! ❤️🖤

PSRFA was established in 1974, and in 1976, we held our very first annual conference!! Tomorrow, we are incredibly proud to continue that tradition as we come together for our 50th Annual Conference!

For 50 conferences, resource families and child welfare professionals have come together to learn, connect, share, support one another, and strengthen the community serving Pennsylvania’s children and families.

We’re looking forward to two days filled with meaningful training, new connections, shared experiences, and time together with the foster, adoptive, and kinship families and professionals who make this community so special.

To everyone joining us in Camp Hill tomorrow; safe travels! We can’t wait to welcome you!

Here’s to honoring where we’ve been, celebrating how far we’ve come, and continuing to build bridges together.

Calling All Parenting Youth & Young Adults with Foster Care Experience!

The Pennsylvania Youth Advisory Board (YAB) wants to hear from you! We are gathering feedback through the Parenting Youth in Foster Care Survey to better understand the experiences, challenges, and support needs of parenting youth and young adults with foster care experience.

Your voice can help shape recommendations and improve services, supports, and resources for parenting youth across Pennsylvania. If you are a parenting youth or know someone who may be eligible, please take a few minutes to complete and share the survey.

We’re excited to bring together foster, adoptive, and kinship families, child welfare professionals, and community partners from across Pennsylvania for two days of connection, learning, resources, and support.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION IS FREE for Pennsylvania Families and Professionals!

Come for both days or join us for just one! Resource families who need overnight accommodations may also be eligible for a complimentary Thursday night hotel room if they register before October 9th.

The conference will include:
- Inspiring keynote and training sessions
- Workshops on Blocked Care, Working with Birth Families, Supporting Children in Foster Care, and Grief & Loss
- Opportunities to connect with other resource families and professionals
- Resource tables, meals, our banquet, silent auction, and more!

We’re wrapping up our workshop spotlights with an important topic for those supporting older youth in foster care.

F-4: Processing Grief and Navigating Loss with Older Youth
Presented by Lisa Smith – Child Welfare Resource Center

Grief and loss can show up in many ways for youth involved in the child welfare system. This workshop will provide valuable insight and resources to help caregivers and professionals better understand and support older youth as they process difficult experiences and transitions.

This month, we honor the incredible caregivers who step up to support children within their families and communities; offering love, stability, and brighter futures.

I’m excited to share that Pennsylvania’s 2026 Kinship Care Virtual Webinar is happening on September 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM–12:15 PM.

Join us for inspiring stories, practical caregiving wisdom, a panel of kinship caregivers and professionals, and live Q&A. Registration is free, and the event is hosted by the PA Department of Human Services in partnership with PA KinConnector.
