A big thank you to Rich Hazenstab and the York County Solid Waste Authority for hosting the PCPG Board’s mid-year in-person meeting at their conference facility.
Following the meeting, 20 PCPG members participated in a field trip that included an educational session on the history of the environmental cleanup of the former landfill, followed by a tour of the refuse incinerator facility.
PCPG wrapped up the day by hosting a Continental Drifters networking event at Spruce on Blackbridge.

For the Act 2 in person training events we are still seeking members interested in presenting a 45-60 minute technical case study on the following topics:
-Risk assessment (including ecological and human receptors)
-V***r intrusion (sampling approaches, mitigation techniques, and risk assessment)
-Multi cleanup standard Act 2 investigations at 1 site or advance use of Act 2.

The PA Brownfields Conference welcomed approximately 140 high school students from surrounding schools for an interactive and educational experience. PCPG member Vincent Carbone of HDR led the program introducing students to brownfields, environmental investigations, and the opportunities and challenges involved in redevelopment.
Students also had the chance to network with consultants and vendors in the exhibit hall, giving them valuable exposure to professionals working in the field. The session concluded with student groups creating their own brownfield redevelopment concepts on paper and presenting their ideas to a panel of industry professionals.
Thank you, Vinnie, for helping inspire the next generation of environmental professionals.

PCPG has a booth setup at the national Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Emvironmental Problems (SAGEEP) which is in Pittsburgh this year. PCPG also got to speak at today's luncheon to the attendees and let them know what we are all about.
