Members 1st Charitable Foundation The Members 1st Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private charitable foundation.

Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be funded according to the funding cycle found on our website. Grant requirements include the following:

- Funding requests must align with the Foundation's mission.

- The organization must be tax exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Supporting documentation in the form of the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) determinat

ion letter (IRS Letter 1045) and IRS Form W-9 must be submitted with the organization’s proposal.

- The organization must be based within the communities that Members 1st serves (Adams, Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York counties).

- The organization must be in good financial standing.

- The organization is non-discriminatory for any reason, including race, religion, creed, age, s*x, s*xual orientation and/or national origin.

- Exceptions to the criteria may be made in situations of large-scale crises, such as national disasters.

- Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000.

In honor of , we're shining a spotlight on the four-legged companions behind some of the people who guide our Foundation's mission.

Meet:
🐾 Benny - companion of Sara, Executive Director
🐾 Jack and Millie - companions of Karen, Board President
🐾 Sadie - companion of Jill, Board Member
🐾 Hank - companion of Lori, Board Member

While these pups may not cast votes at board meetings, they're always ready to lend a paw when it comes to companionship, tail wags and unconditional love.

💛 When you’re a kid, having a friend can make all the difference.

On , we’re spotlighting Compeer of Lebanon County, a nonprofit that helps children and adults strengthen their mental health and well-being through meaningful friendships.

Compeer’s mission is rooted in the power of human connection, and its work is making a real difference for local students.

With funding from our Foundation, the organization revitalized its youth program for the 2025-2026 school year, expanding support for students during the school day.

Compeer staff members, volunteers and interns hosted 14 group sessions for 31 students, sharing mental health education and helping participants build healthy relationship skills.

brought a strong sense of connection to Allentown this week. 💙

The Allentown Police Activities League gathered neighbors, families and first responders for an evening filled with food trucks, K-9 demonstrations and dozens of vendors.

Kids in the program also had a hand in making it happen by helping organize and set up the event.

That kind of bond is what the nonprofit works to build all year long, and it’s a mission our Foundation is proud to support. Through recreational and educational activities, young people have opportunities to connect with officers, build trust and even become mentors in their own communities.
