This weekend AFSCME Council 93, held an open house at our new headquarters in Westborough. It was a great day for members to see our new offices, meet with Council 93 staff, and enjoy a cookout and family activities on a beautiful fall afternoon. We even raised some money for the AFSCME Council 93 Memorial Scholarship Fund when Council President Tiger Stockbridge and attorneys from our Legal Department took turns in the dunk tank!

Congratulations to Local 1365 member Maureen Ray, an Assistant in the Billerica Assessor's Office, on receiving the prestigious Lucille Bayes Clerk of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers!

This well-deserved recognition honors an outstanding Assessing Office Clerk who demonstrates professionalism, exceptional customer service, dedication, integrity, and commitment to their office, municipality, and the taxpayers they serve. Her hard work, knowledge, and continued dedication to serving our community is truly something to be proud of.

Have you heard of Storrowing? Mass DCR Local 3485 member Larry Callanan knows all about it "Its usually aluminum versus steel and steel always wins."

"Storrowing" is when If you drive a too tall truck under a too short overpass and get the chance to meet Larry who will drive, push, pull, or tow the unfortunate truck off of Storrow Drive.

Dozens of Head Start workers are members of AFSCME Local 1369 at Capstone Community Action in Vermont who work tirelessly day in and day out to sure make low-income children are provided with the education, nutrition and access to health care they need to succeed and live healthy, successful lives. Protect Head Start, Protect Our Kids!
