Boston Village

Boston Village Boston Village (Formerly Beacon Hill Village): Revolutionizing aging at home in Boston.

Beacon Hill Village, a membership organization in the heart of Boston, was founded in 2001 by a group of long-time Beacon Hill residents as an alternative to moving from their houses to retirement or assisted living communities. By organizing and delivering programs and services, Beacon Hill Village allows a growing and diverse group of Boston residents 50 years or older to lead safe, healthy, and

productive lives in their own homes as they age. From groceries to Tai Chi to cultural and social activities to home care, Beacon Hill Village members get what they need to enjoy their lives…and peace of mind. Beacon Hill Village Values:
Community, Individuality, Compassion, Volunteerism, Collaboration, Innovation, Excellence, and Sustainability

Boston Village members have been busy with our full calendar of programs!

The treasurer of our Board was the past president at Mt. Auburn Cemetery and took members on a tour of this beautiful space recently.

Other members were treated to an all-access tour of the Museum of Fine Arts where all mobilities were welcomed.

Curators from the MFA also came to us to present on how they developed one of the current exhibitions there: "Framing Nature: Gardens and Imagination" for one of our on-going lecture series.

A Hamlet (neighborhood) group decided to go to the Arnold Arboretum to check out the amazing display of lilacs - we love exploring together!

If you are interested in becoming a member of Boston Village, and live in the Boston area, we would welcome you to try out one of our many and varied programs! Just reach out to us and let us know you are interested. If space allows we can include you in one of our events! [email protected]

Last week Boston Village members gathered for our Annual Meeting, and 25th Anniversary Kick-Off!

We recognized the achievements of many of our members as well as the Village. Proclamations celebrating our anniversary were received from our State Representative Jay Livingstone and our State Senator, Lydia Edwards.

Five of our Founders were in attendance as well. The Revolutionary concept of a Village began with them, and we continue to learn and grow today with their guidance.

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Last week, Boston Village members attended a session called
Understanding AI: A Friendly Guide for Lifelong Learners.

Attendees learned about how AI is transforming the way we live, work and learn with examples highlighting both the opportunities and the risks that are involved with this new technology.

Boston Village will continue to provide opportunities like these for our members - we are a group of Lifelong Learners!

At the end of March, Boston Village hosted its inaugural "Sips & Dips" in our new office space.
We welcomed new members to the organization, and celebrated being together in this central location.
We had a great turnout, and members got to experience the event in the shared conference room, and then took tours of the new office space. We look forward to hosting many more events in our new home!

Boston Village completed last week what is an annual tradition: Spring Into Fitness/Active Aging Week classes!
This year we had classes each day of the week, with our final class of the week in-person.
There was one lucky winner from the attendees of each class who received a free pair of shoes compliments of Easy Spirit which was a real motivator!
Thanks to Sullivan Fitness for putting this together every year, to Easy Spirit for supporting our participants, and to our participants who showed up and put in the work! We are so proud of all of you.
