It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Professor Elna McIntosh.
Prof Elna was far more than a renowned gynaecologist and sexologist. She was a compassionate advocate for women's health, a dedicated servant of her community, and a cherished member of the PinkDrive family.
For many years, she served on the PinkDrive Board, generously giving her time, expertise, and heart to our mission. Without hesitation, she would leave her private practice behind to travel with the PinkDrive team on long-distance outreaches, ensuring that women in underserved communities had access to life-saving education, support, and healthcare services.
Educating women and empowering them with knowledge about their health was not just her profession—it was her passion and life's calling.
Prof Elna walked a path that few would choose, a road marked by uncertainty, pain, and immense courage. Yet she faced every challenge with quiet grace and unwavering determination. She met each new day with strength, dignity, and a spirit that inspired all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cancer may have claimed her body, but it could never conquer her heart. She wore resilience like armour, and her hope became a light that guided and encouraged countless others through their own journeys.
Her legacy lives on in every life she touched, every woman she empowered, and every community she served.
On behalf of the entire PinkDrive family, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who loved her. We pray for comfort and strength during this difficult time.
Prof Elna, thank you for your selfless service, your wisdom, your compassion, and the difference you made in so many lives.
You will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever celebrated.
Rest in peace, Prof Elna McIntosh.
