Plasterers Local 534 members Ermir Rama and first year apprentice Andrew Godfrey recently completed a complex epoxy floor project at the Auerbach Center at 100 Guest Street in Brighton. The installation consisted of a three-step process designed to provide a durable, chemical-resistant, and easy-to-clean surface.

The project timeline was as follows:

- Day One: Preparation and installation of a cementitious urethane self-leveling base, broadcast with flint shot (fine sand).
- Day Two: Application of a grout coat using polyaspartic 100% solid urethane.
- Day Three: Application of a final topcoat of the same material to provide UV protection and prevent yellowing.

The signatory contractor for the project was New England Decks & Floors and the general contractor is John Moriarty & Associates.

Several Local 534 members turned out this week for the 11th Annual Harry C. Brousaides Memorial Golf Tournament at Easton Country Club.

Harry was a past Local 534 President and Funds Administrator, and his son Chris also proudly served as a Local 534 Funds Administrator.

Congrats to Vitor Santos, who will be retiring on June 1, 2026.

Vitor has been a member of Boston Plasterers and Cement Masons, Local 534, since April 4, 2003. Throughout his tenure, he has worked continuously as a Cement Mason with our signatory partner, S&F Contractors in Hudson, MA, and has remained a member in good standing.

Thank you, Vitor, for your years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to the trade and our union. We wish you nothing but happiness, health, and success in this next chapter.
