Leading the Way in Recovery

LAP of MA President Thomas Vitiello and National coordinator of the Teamsters’ ROADS Program shared his vision for the future: to leave no member or dependent without the help they need, whether they’re struggling with mental health or a substance use disorder.

Our guy is making real change—not just here in Massachusetts, but across the country. Proud to see union leaders continuing to break down barriers, expand resources, and make sure our Brothers, Sisters, and their families know that help is available and no one has to face these challenges alone.

Keep leading the way, Tom! 💪🏼🇺🇸

What an incredible week at the National Labor Assistance Professionals (LAP) Conference in Las Vegas!

Representing Labor Assistance Professionals (LAP) of Massachusetts, we had the opportunity to connect with labor professionals from across the country through fellowship, networking, education, and service. We returned home with new ideas, valuable resources, and meaningful connections that will help us continue supporting union members and their families throughout Massachusetts.

Beyond the educational sessions, we shared plenty of laughs, enjoyed some great meals, volunteered alongside amazing people, and strengthened friendships with others who are passionate about helping the labor community. It was a reminder that while the work we do is important, the relationships we build along the way are just as meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to our supporting unions, sponsors, donors, and everyone who believes in the mission of LAP of Massachusetts. Your generosity and continued support made opportunities like this possible. Because of you, we are able to continue expanding peer support, recovery resources, and mental health awareness throughout the labor community.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy, the strength of our communities, and the hardworking men and women who help build this country every day.

As we gather with family and friends, let’s also remember those who may be struggling. Independence can mean many things—including the freedom that comes with recovery, hope, and supporting one another.

From all of us at LAP of Massachusetts, we wish you a safe, happy, and meaningful Fourth of July.

Today, we honor all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who lead with strength, love, guidance, and sacrifice. Thank you for the countless ways you support your families and communities every day.

We also hold space for those who are missing their fathers, remembering fathers who have passed, and those navigating Father’s Day with mixed emotions.

From all of us at LAP, we wish you a day filled with appreciation, gratitude, and time spent with those who matter most.

Happy Father’s Day! 💙

Today we honor Juneteenth — a day of freedom, reflection, resilience, and hope.

As we celebrate the progress that has been made, we also recognize the work that remains in creating communities where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and opportunity.

LAP of Massachusetts stands with all those working to build stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities. Through education, support, and recovery, we believe in the power of hope, healing, and unity.
