Whatcom Hospice Foundation

Whatcom Hospice Foundation Serving Whatcom County Whatcom Hospice consistently serves about 220 patients every day in Whatcom County. Joseph Medical Center.

Hospice professionals work with both patients and their loved ones to create individualized plans of care which enable patients to live the final days of their lives comfortably and pain free, with dignity, purpose and peace. Previously, our hospice services could only be offered to a patient in his or her home, a hospital or long-term care center. For a variety of reasons, these options are not a

lways the most desirable or appropriate for either the patient or caregiver. We now have another option available: Whatcom Hospice House. Hospice House is located in the Happy Valley neighborhood of Bellingham. It is staffed by Whatcom Hospice, a department of PeaceHealth St. Groundbreaking occurred on September 13, 2009, and construction is now complete. The first patients were accepted on September 16, 2010.
