Out and About is a monthly nature program for q***r adults 18+. Join us Friday, October 23rd, 5:00-7:00PM for Creatures of the Night 🦇🙀 Wear your best costume to explore at night and learn all about nocturnal creatures. We'll play a little, have an interactive discussion about nocturnal animals and their unique adaptations, then go on our own night prowl to find them. Last Tuesday, Nature Preschool had the amazing opportunity to make some apple c***r! Thank you so much to the parents who made this happen! We got to help drop apples in and spin the wheel to mash them up. We learned about levers and how it was way easier to turn the wheel with a big stick to help press the juice out of the apples. Finally, we got to taste the delicious c***r we just made! 🍎🍏

This feels like an impossible decision, but we know you have your faves!

Help choose the Official Bird of Bellingham!

From now through Oct. 8, you can vote for one of 10 community-nominated bird finalists. The winning bird will be announced by Mayor Kim Lund on Friday, Oct. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal.

This celebration is part of Bellingham Bird Week, hosted by the North Cascades Audubon Society and Audubon Washington from Oct. 5–11. Throughout the week, enjoy bird-themed children's Storytimes with the Bellingham Public Library, a drawing session and screening of "Lights Out Texas" at the Whatcom Museum, guided walks, trivia, and more.

Woo hoo! Our summer camps earned a silver star for Best of the Northwest 2026! Thanks to Bellingham Alive and each person who voted for us! Congrats to all of the other local businesses and organizations recognized this year. There's power in community.

This Friday, October 2nd, there's a NEW location for Wild Things and Wonder Walks. We're meeting every Friday in October at Cornwall Park! It's peak mushroom season, so expect lots of fun(gi) exploration of the forest floor. We'll be looking up too, searching for resident barred owls and lots of other birds.

Wild Things, our weekly outing for kids 0-6 and their adults, meets 9:30-11:00AM. Wonder Walks, our weekly outing for adults 18+, is accessible to all abilities, and meets 11:30AM-1:00PM.
